Name: Seraphim
Avatar Style: Combat/Support
Gender: Female

User: Brandon Seward (pending the completion of her training)
Personality: Seraphim is an incredibly intelligent girl despite her young age, possessing a great aptitude for code making and encryption that is enhanced due to her creative view of problem solving. She finds the task of encryption through hiding messages in different filetypes to be an excellent method of expanding her creative capabilities, and often seems to take more joy in creating the sounds or videos that hide the files she's protecting more than the act of encrypting them herself. This creativity is also expressed in her constant efforts to assist her mother with the creation of new segments and "acts" in her late night movie program, often to the point that it would end up turning it more into a variety show. This energetic approach to creating and entertaining can occasionally leave her distracted like any child, and she sometimes needs a soft reminder to focus to get her mind back on track.
That is not to say that Seraphim is absent minded, indeed she seems to absorb information like a sponge, eagerly learning new things with the same almost manic energy that she throws her creative pursuits into. When she isn't encrypting or crafting something, she is often reading, researching or even studiously examining old media, either for inspiration or simply to learn about what people find entertaining. She in particular finds things like Cartoons or Tokusatsu fascinating, being enthralled with the frenetic energy and wild colors that fill the screen when watching them, she tends to sketch out things as she watches as well, seemingly committing her flashes of inspiration so she can hone them for later projects. She even seems to want to fashion herself after these heroes, to become a symbol of justice who fights evildoers and saves the day, it's partly why she wants to become a net ops officer instead of an encryption expert in the R&D department.
Seraphim's incredible desire to learn new things leaves her endlessly curious about the world and the people (and avatars/viruses) that inhabit it. This has gotten her into trouble on occasion, as she has been caught peeking into archives and files that she should not have access to, and when asked why she is breaching security she always responds with, "No body could answer my question, so I tried to learn on my own instead."
Underneath her hyperactive enthusiasm and childlike curiosity, Seraphim is far more savvy to the world around her than she lets on. She sees the ways that some people both like and unlike her suffer as the wounds of is Abraxas' war on the digital world are still trying to mend, She often asks her elders why some avatars commit the crimes that they do, or even why viruses would act violent when she herself feels no urge to destroy or consume things. Indeed, her instinct seems to be the opposite, she wants to create and evolve things, to build and innovate.
When she is told that things "simply are that way", she becomes visibly frustrated, seeing a simple answer to such a complex question as a cop out or as a way of placating her due to her age. This shows a sympathetic and caring side that is tempered by an intense desire to protect people and keep them from being hurt, even if it means she herself must be put in danger. Seraphim is willing to fight, if it means that people will no longer suffer.
History: The circumstances of Seraphim's birth are directly tied to the end of Abraxas' war against the Cyber world, and by extension, the human race. In the last battle of the war, the NPD launched an all out assault on the viral despot's final terror weapon, a massive construction called the "Hive Heart". The Hive Heart was a scorched earth weapon, designed to funnel the sum total of Abraxas' entire hive network into the North American Cyber city and turn it into a super hive that could be used as a platform to launch a world wide conquest of Cyber Earth.
During the battle, Lilith and Viral directly confronted Abraxas, and while the two were mid fusion, Abraxas sliced Viral in half. Viral's overclocked code simply allowed him to regenerate the damage, and Lilith seemingly absorbed the code with no harm done to herself, but it would be weeks later when the true consequences of that code being absorbed would be seen. In order to fuse with Viral, Lilith had to activate her code sharing program, and without Viral to keep the separated section of code from bonding to her, a "Data Egg" was formed. This egg, improperly formed within Lilith's abdomen, "hatched" to birth Seraphim, who unintentionally tore her way out of her mother's stomach when she came into the world.
She was born with a remarkable amount of intelligence and self awareness, and quickly tended to her injured mother as best as she could until Mani4c, Noxus and Saber arrived to help Lilith. Seraphim left her mother's care to the NPD, and after a chance to introduce herself to everyone, was taken to the NYNPD's server to be evaluated. She was found to posses over 85% viral code, but it was the manner in which her code behaved that was unique. Seraphim's code was incredibly mutable, breaking apart and reshaping itself instead of simply replicating ad nauseum like normal viral code does. Seraphim's code was free of any hazardous mutations, and was placed in a combination schooling program/coding regimen by Bit, with the promise that she would receive regular checkups to make sure the her code mutation would not result in a dangerous glitch of some kind.
Since her induction, Seraphim's time has consisted of mostly learning how to manipulate her viral code, how to encrypt files using her "Media Masking" Technique, and side projects that seem to take up any spare time she has. She has been making great progress, to the point that she's actually being considered for a Net-Op's qualification exam, as well as being paired with a human partner. This partner is a new arrival, a Net Op's officer named Brandon Seward.
Add-Ons: Combat - Hex Bolts: Seraphim's incredibly rapid code mutation causes a large amount of "junk" code to be produced, This junk data is unformed and functionally useless on its own. Normally this junk code is naturally consumed and replaced to avoid damaging glitches, but Seraphim has learned how to save some of this junk data and fashion it into raw material for various programs. In particular, Seraphim's Hex Bolts use this code as ammunition.
To use the Hex Bolts she first forms a pair of small sigils, one per palm and each about as large as a tea saucer. These sigils are used as focusing lenses to contain and shape Seraphim's Junk Code into potent bolts of pure energy, which can be fired with good accuracy and at a decent rate to boot. She can also fire a larger bolt by bringing her hands together before firing, using both sigils to shape a larger projectile.
Combat - Sigil Barrier: Seraphim is capable of using her junk data to form more than mere blasts of energy, she is also capable of making her sigils solid, and incredibly durable against attack. This barrier takes the form of an arcane sigil that can be as small as a buckler or as a large as a 8x8 foot wall, though a larger barrier will slow or completely immobilize Seraphim if used. (Seraphim's speed is unaffected so long as the shield does not surpass the size of a tower shield that is as large as she is, past that, her speed is halved, and upon reaching more than twice her size, the barrier will immobilize her or be automatically dispelled to allow her to move.) The shield is incredibly durable, even at a large size, but can be shattered over time or with a sufficiently overwhelming blow all at once.
Connectivity - Wings: Seraphim was born with (or rapidly mutated) the ability to manifest a quartet of wings, one pair being angelic with ebony feathers, the second pair appearing to be demonic, similar to her mother's. These wings are arranged in an "X" shape, with the ebony feather angelic ones on top and the demonic wings on the bottom. The angelic wings are the stronger of the pair, being easily two-thirds larger than the demonic set and being used for propelling her through the air. The demonic wings, while not as strong, work with the larger set to stabilize and enhance her mobility even at high speeds.
These wings allow Seraphim to reach a speed of about 100-110 mph on a straightaway, with a dive speed reaching those equal to a peregrine falcon (about 240 miles per hour).
Interface - Viral Empathy: (A/N: This ability is currently LOCKED until Seraphim discovers it in story. It is strictly here for balancing and information.)
Seraphim has a unique trait that none of her other Viral Code gifted family members or colleagues posses, she is seemingly capable of feeling the emotions and intent of other viruses...or at least SOME other viruses. The exact details of this program or ability are still being uncovered, but as of this moment, what is known is that Seraphim has the ability to read a virus' emotional state if it has come from the deadlands, or, strangely, if it is a member of her own family. Other Viruses, such as those constructed by Bit, Forge or Noxus, do not seem to have this trait unless code samples from the DeadLands are used in the process.
As of now, this ability is limited, but quite useful for containing any viral beasts or infected avatars who have deadlands code within them, allowing Seraphim to nonviolently talk down or calm an attacker if it is willing to be soothed.
Interface/Combat - Manifest Engine: (A/N: Like the Viral Empathy ability, this Add-On is locked until Seraphim discovers it, it is simply here for posterity and pre-emptive balancing)
Of the many things that Seraphim inherited from Viral, one of the most potent is the Manifest Engine. Originally constructed as a way of giving Viral a physical form while the NPD struggled to build a framework that was able to stay intact whilst utilizing his incredibly caustic and aggressive code, The Manifest Engine allowed Viral, and currently Allows Seraphim, to give shape to something otherwise intangible. For Viral, it was projecting his cosmetic data and housing his cognitive code in a stable shell, one that was, while not as durable as a proper framework, allowed him a great deal more freedom.
Seraphim, however, uses the engine differently. For her, it acts as a method of calling forth "Summons", sprite-like programs with a limited level of autonomy who obey Seraphim's commands and act as assistants in both combat and everyday activities. This essentially makes the Manifest Engine a new and wholly unique take on CAS programs, instead of forming armor and weapons, it creates an "Avatar-Lite" to assist in combat using the same data.
Downloaded Programs: General Utility - Summon Corvus: Upon meeting her "Uncle" Totenkopf, Seraphim was gifted a unique program, a pet raven that she named Corvus. Corvus' main function is to act as a second pair of eyes for Seraphim, flying high above whilst remaining inconspicuous to outside observers. It's vision is telescopic, allowing Seraphim to see events at ground level perfectly clear even if her pet is quite high above the ground, but beyond it's utility as a "Drone Camera"...Corvus has little tactical function. Instead Seraphim speaks to the bird and dotes on it, making Corvus more of a pet than a utility program, though Seraphim insists that the bird is useful in possible police duties as a "covert agent".
Combat - Light of Judgement: (Locked) Seraphim is capable of coalescing her junk data into a heavily concentrated sphere, which hovers above her and acts as a sort of mobile turret that's capable of firing intense beams of energy. These beams can either be fired in a long "bolt" that acts like an arrow or lance, or swept across the ground or through the air to slice into or through a target.
The sphere lasts for 5 posts, and requires a 3 post recharge once it's dispersed.
Combat - Flare: (Locked) Seraphim is capable of altering her junk data in more ways than simply compacting it or using it for bolts, she is also capable of "igniting" it into a potent blast of plasma-like flames. Flare is a powerful blast of fire that explodes violently on impact, creating a sphere of boiling hot plasma that damages anything in it's 20 foot radius.
Seraphim can only fire off a flare burst once every 3 posts, due to the amount of energy she needs to draw to ignite the code properly.
Combat - Mirror Shield: An enhanced version of Seraphim's Sigil Barrier, The Mirror shield "catches" an enemy's attack, stores it's potential energy, and then fires it back at twice it's original power. This barrier requires 7 posts to recharge, and the retaliatory blast takes the form of a bright amethyst colored lance of energy.
