Name: Massacre
Avatar Style: Combat/Virus
Gender: Male
Appearance: link
User: None
Personality: Massacre, true to his name, is a brutal and violent virus with an unquenchable urge to kill anyone he sees in the most painful and sadistic manner that he can think up. His attitude when not in battle is that of a crude trickster with very little regard for manners or tact. He will not shy away from making lewd remarks about the female generals that he works alongside.
Combined with his generally rude and unpleasant demeanor makes him possibly one of the most hated general out of the group, even Abraxas, who created him to begin with, finds him irksome. As a result of this, he usually works alone or with a small group of lower ranked viruses as backup. This suits him just fine, as being on his own allows him to indulge in his sadistic desires without being chastised by other generals.
History: Massacre was created by Abraxas in an attempt to make a general from scratch, and he is quite possibly the reason that he leaves virus construction to his more scientifically inclined generals. Massacre quickly proved to be unruly and difficult to control, blithely acting in whatever way he wished no matter who tried to control him.
It wasn't until Thorn had been recruited that Massacre became controllable, if still unpleasant. Abraxas had Thorn install a "Kill Switch" inside of Massacre, if he tried to disobey orders. The switch causes Massacre to suffer from debilitating pain, and if he continues to disobey, the switch would detonate and reduce Massacre to a smoldering pile of ash.
Despite his unruly behavior and downright caustic attitude, Massacre is still useful due to his love for destruction and his durability, however, if the day should come that he becomes useless, Abraxas will not hesitate to obliterate his "Son" personally.
Add-Ons: Fluid Body: *NOTE: This Add-on is technically a trait that is inherent to this character's body, as such it is always active. This, combined with the trait itself, means that this ability takes up both an Add-on and a DP slot. This also means that instead of 4 DP's being active at the same time, this avatar is limited to three.* Massacre's body, despite taking on a human appearance, is in reality an amorphous semi-liquid mass of viral code. This fluid-like framework makes Massacre incredibly difficult to injure with conventional blades or de-rez rounds, This also allows him to repair most wounds by simply reattaching severed appendages or by sealing puncture wounds.
However, a side effect of this specialized resistance to conventional weapons is that Massacre is incredibly vulnerable to energy based weapons, such as laser/beam based melee and projectile weapons, electricity and fire/heat based weaponry. Weapons such as these cauterize the wounds they cause, making it incredibly difficult to repair them. Electrical weapons also cause Massacre's framework to malfunction, causing it to "Lock" into place, this renders his repair abilities and resistance to kinetic damage useless for a short time (4 posts), making him far easier to damage.
Combat - Weaponized Shape-Shifting: Massacre's flexible framework also allows him to transform his limbs into various melee weapons. Massacre is also capable of detaching several weapons and wielding them separately, he usually uses this ability to create throwing weapons that he can hurl at an opponent with vicious accuracy. However, he is limited to how many weapons he can create and throw, he can create only two weapons per post, one for each hand. Once he throws these weapons, he needs to create more. *NOTE: Any weapons created via shape-shifting will have a description that details the weapon's range, speed damage output and any special abilities, such as armor piercing or being able to be detached from Massacre as a throwing weapon.*
Combat - Camouflage: Massacre is able to take on the color, texture and even the temperature of a nearby surface by pressing up against it. This makes him nearly invisible to the naked eye, and shields him from thermal imaging and most advanced scanners. However, the camouflage is not perfect, enemies with a keen eye will be able to see him, and his camouflage is useless against scanners that negate programs meant to conceal someone from view.
Connectivity - Tendrils: Massacre's main mode of speedy transport is to fire thin filiaments made out of his biomass and use them to swing around an area, the tendrils are capable of supporting one rider as well as Massacre, and he is capable of firing off several filaments at one time to make a web of sorts to hide on. These filaments are silent when fired, and allow him to stake out an area for attack or patrol a captured zone quickly.
Downloaded Programs: Combat - Tendril Barrage: Massacre is able to shape his code into razor sharp tendrils, these tendrils then burst from his torso and rip his enemies to pieces, ripping through most forms of personal armor like paper, energy barriers and heavy or vehicle armor is damaged, but the damage taken is either halved or negated entirely depending on the strength of the armor.
These tendrils have a maximum range 25 feet and erupt in a dome around Massacre. The Tendrils extend incredibly fast, reaching their full length in 1.2 seconds. However, the attack itself has a "warm up" period of 4 seconds, allowing an agile opponent to escape from the attack. The attack also has a tell as to when Massacre is about to use it, Massacre's body warps and shifts as mass is diverted to form the tendrils, this causes his body to "ripple" as the tendrils are formed, if the opponent notices the attack being prepared and gets to a safe distance, they will be able to avoid injury. This DP deals extreme damage if it hits, and requires a 7 turn cool-down before it can be used again.
Combat - Backlash: This DP takes advantage of Massacre's durability and weaponizes it. When this DP is active, Massacre absorbs any projectiles fired at him by an opponent and takes them into his body, he then uses the kinetic energy, as well as his own data, to fire the projectiles back at the opponent. This DP doubles the damage output of the initial attack, and is a weapon fires in bursts or is fully automatic, he will absorb all of the projectiles and fire them back in a hail of bullets.
The Damage dealt by the attack as well as it's area of effect is directly proportional to both the damage of the rounds themselves, as well as the number of rounds. For example, one large blast will deal a large amount of damage when fired back, but it will be like a sniper bullet, there is almost no spread but the round will deal an extreme amount of damage to the target that it hits. On the other end of the spectrum, if Massacre absorbs a barrage of bullets, each individual bullet will deal less damage, but the wide swath of the blast coupled with the large amount of kinetic energy that is absorbed from all the bullets is easily capable of clearing a whole room of targets if they aren't wearing reinforced armor.
This DP is useless against melee blows or energy based attacks due to the nature of the DP and Massacre's weakness to energy weapons. The tell for this attack is also rather obvious to those who know what it does, Massacre's body turns and even brighter red when the DP is activated, and before he fires a corona of blood-red energy appears around him. This DP requires actual damage to be dealt for it to work, and it also requires a 6 turn cooldown before it can be used again.
