Personality: Thorn is known to be a bit on the arrogant side. She believes that her intellect and cunning are just as much of a match against even the most powerful and skilled fighters on cyber earth. Still, her arrogance is also a double edged sword, making her overconfident at the start of a battle until she realizes her enemy's true potential, and by then it would have been too late to turn the tide in battle. She also has a strong possessive side to her, willing to inflict the worst fate on anyone who would threaten or get between those who have won her over.
History: Thorn was the aftermath of a failed attempt to create a viral data architect, her original creator casting her unfinished core data aside and leaving it to float in the endless void of information on the internet. She was never truly awakened until her core assimilated itself with data from some of the worst parts of the datascape, the parts that held info on the darker sides of earth's past. Criminals, corruption, deception and betrayal, her core took all of this in and somehow, her creator's failed work became a success.
When Thorn returned to the computer that her data had recognized as her origin, she tried to approach her creator and learn what he was like. But the only thing she learned was disappointment. This busy hacker had forgotten all about his failed attempt at creating her, as if he had never started in the first place. Furious, she used her abilities to take everything this human had, and wiped it clean before crashing his entire network.
For months, she wandered the streets of cyber earth, drifting from city to city and trying to find a place where she belonged. But the citizens she met were too wary of her viral nature, and quickly made her into an outcast. With nowhere left to go, she took refuge in the wastelands of the antarctic network, feeding on viruses that threatened to attack her. She even managed to make a home for herself out of the raw viral data that resided in this wasteland.
She lived a solitary life for many years, losing hope that anyone would see her as more than a freak of nature. Then she encountered another one just like her. This individual was very ambitious, and had plans for their world to make it more suitable for people like themselves, and he offered a place for her in his circle, as his inventor. Intrigued by his plans, and very excited to have found someone who willingly wanted her company, and to give her a sense of belonging, she has grown fond and even a bit possessive of him, even to the point of violence if someone so much as looked at him the wrong way.
Add-Ons:
Combat - Thorn Whip: A simple whip without any real special properties. It is highly used for grappling, as its barbs are able to grip into anyone trapped in its coils.
Combat - Beast Claws: Razor sharp claws at the tips of her hands. These claws are perfect for rending flesh and ripping apart weaker forms of armor.
Combat - Beast Tail: A long, prehensile tail, perfect for gaining some distance when surrounded by enemies from all sides. Mainly used as a bludgeoning tool.
Connectivity - Beast Wings: Large, demonic wings that enable flight, as well as grant faster travel through the network.
Downloaded Programs:
Combat - Trap construction: Thorn is able to construct environmental traps out of viral data. These traps range from small traps with the purpose of ensnaring an enemy, to large traps, meant for destroying most weak opponents with a single hit. One trap can be made every 4 posts after construction. It takes 1 post for a single trap (same turn), 2 posts for medium/moderate damage traps, and 3 posts for large, massive damage traps.
Examples of trap types per size: Small (bear trap, basic net trap, collapsed/fold open cage), Medium (virus pit, spring-up wall, virus-tipped arrow launchers), Large (Lava pool, mulcher pit, controlled rock avalanche)
Combat - Puppet Master Whip: A special weapon mod that allows Thorn to control anyone she assimilates this whip into. The tips impale themselves into the cranium and hands of the target, the joint linking them at the base stabbing into the target's spine. As one would imagine, this is highly painful for the one being stabbed. Once fully ingrained in their code, they are forced into a sleep mode, and Thorn can control this target remotely.
She can only control one person at a time, and the whip must fully link with the avatar targeted before control is established. This mod lasts as long as the link is active. Forced removal, or deletion are the only methods of removing the whip once it's been linked, but there are no traces of the connection ever existing once the connection is severed. 3 post cool down. [Scripted only!]
Combat - Virus bait: Thorn lets out a pulse that attracts any and all nearby viruses, as well as promotes virus creation and evolution. The number of viruses attracted or created, as well as the evolution that comes from these viruses, are determined by all participants (using whatever means of communication outside of the IC thread), and they cannot be changed after the first use of this ability per thread. 6 post cool down.
