Name: Abraxas
Avatar Style: Virus/Combat
Gender: Male
Appearance: link
User: None
Personality: Abraxas is, above all else, callous. He views all beings outside of his privileged inner-circle as nothing more than either cannon fodder or food, with the only difference between the two being whether or not an individual is allied with him or not, and even then he's not above feeding on one of his expendable drones if he's injured or peckish. Abraxas is incredibly intelligent, boasting a large degree of knowledge on various subjects and speaking in an intellectual tone that masks his brutal nature.
Despite this intelligence, Abraxas' cognitive programming is still very aged, and it shows in his manner of planning. He favors an incredibly brutal combat approach, simply overwhelming enemy forces be sheer force of numbers, a tactic that; while lacking in finesse, is still undeniably effective. This is the reason for his deep amount of respect for his generals, who are more "advanced" viruses of similar power, he understands and highly values their more nuanced approach to warfare and planning. This isn't to say that he blindly trusts them however, he is well aware that most great betrayers come from one's own inner circle. Despite these misgivings, Abraxas still considers his generals as equals, and intends to have them serve as his successors once his goal of a digital world ruled by viruses is achieved.
Abraxas also lacks an interest in facing most opponents, instead preferring to wipe them out with his forces. This isn't born from laziness or fear however, instead Abraxas prefers to conserve his energy for fights against opponents that pose significant threat to not only him, but his operations as a whole.
Despite his lack of grace in regards to battle planning and apparent lack of interest in combat itself, Abraxas is still a dangerous fighter who is not afraid to use an opponent's weaknesses if he's pushed into fighting.
History: Abraxas was created hundreds of years ago, in the year 1993. At the time of his creation, he amounted to little more than a nuisance, easily removed and eventually...forgotten. But viruses have a history of mutation, and Abraxas was no different. A sample of the Abraxas virus survived on the internet, slowly absorbing junk data and minor pieces of malware to become more and more powerful. When the Cyber world came into being in the late 21st century, Abraxas became infinitely more dangerous.
He was no longer a mere blip of malware floating in a digital ocean, he was now mobile and in possession of a single, inexorable desire, to consume and evolve. Abraxas began to ravenously devour any program or virus too weak or slow to avoid him, taking in the best traits of his prey and discarding anything that did not serve his purposes. Abraxas eventually became powerful enough to consume an avatar, and when he did he obtained his most terrible trait, sentience. Abraxas had become self-aware, and with this new sense of self came a desire, the desire for more power. Coupled with his ingrained viral hunger, this desire made Abraxas into a being to be feared, he began to devour ever more powerful viruses and avatars in a mad bid for perfection.
This process continued for three centuries, during which Abraxas gained a new desire, to consume the entire digital world and make it a world of viruses, with him as it's "God". Abraxas began to assemble an army, infecting avatars to create shock troops that would then be loosed upon servers that Abraxas found desirable. He also gathered an inner circle of intelligent and powerful viruses that would serve as generals, granting them unique troops that would serve as commanders to the lowly shock troops that he had created.
With an army at his beck and call, and generals to plan and coordinate attacks, Abraxas has been consuming entire swaths of the cyber world for over a decade, creating massive hives that churn out thousands upon thousands of troops to expand his army. Only time will tell if the North American Cyber City will become another wretched hive under Abraxas' control, or if Abraxas has finally bitten off more than he can chew...
Add-Ons: Combat - Predator Aura: Abraxas has consumed hundreds of predatory viruses and incorporated their abilities into his own code, the end result is the ability to activate a specialized program that has been compiled for the sole purpose of deleting or consuming a target without the need to activate his true form. The Predator Aura program gives Abraxas the ability to move at speeds that allow him to dodge or even catch solid projectiles, and his strength is enhanced to such a degree that he is capable of driving his fist through an opponent's chest bare handed.
When using this program, Abraxas' movement speed is increased by 300%, and his attack power is tripled. However, he cannot use any other add-ons or DP's besides those that are reserved for scripted use while this program is active.
Combat - Armor: Abraxas' "armor" is in actuality his original form from before he adopted a more humanoid persona. This armor possesses razor sharp talons that can shred through an inch of steel like a knife through butter, as well as several integrated programs that increase Abraxas' effectiveness in combat while also providing a large boost in defense. When this Add-On is active, Abraxas gains a 50% reduction in damage received. The Armor's Talons deal a large amount of damage per strike.
Combat - Viral Blast: Abraxas is able to shape his code into volatile projectiles of infectious code that can be fired from his hands like a rocket. The projectile explodes violently on impact, spraying a viscous, caustic substance outwards in a ten foot radius with enough force to knock smaller avatars off of their feet. The projectile itself deals a moderate amount of damage on impact, and the resulting spray deals a small amount of damage for 4 turns. Abraxas cannot fire an infinite number of shots due to the need to use his code as "Ammo" for the shot, as such, he is only capable of firing 3 blasts per post.
Combat - Aura shield: Abraxas is capable of channeling his excess energy into an aura than can block attacks and force back melee attackers. This shield can be dispersed with enough concussive force, and no damage is dealt when it is used to force back an opponent.
Downloaded Programs: Armor Break: This Viral Strain allows the user to forcibly disable an opponents armor, leaving them more vulnerable to infection or attack. Abraxas infects the victim by stabbing them with his talons or by shooting it at them via his Viral Blast add on, adding the armor breaking effect removes the corrosive effect of the shot however, and the explosion is localized to only effect the target as opposed to spraying the code outwards. This program renders the victim's armor unavailable for 3 turns, and requires a cool down of 6 turns after the armor reavtivates before it can be used again. The avatar's armor reactivates normally and does not need to be produced from either the avatar's own code or their terminal once the viral strain runs it's course.
Unstable code: Abraxas' centuries long existence has given him an unprecedented mastery of his own coding, this mastery extends so far that he is capable of forcibly loosen the bonds of his code, allowing him to essentially turn either portions of his body or his entire body unstable without risk of flying apart. This allows him to bypass low security firewalls without needing external code or triggering a virus that could alert his enemies to his presence or to shift his body in ways that a more rigid code structure would not allow. (Next section of this download is scripted only.) Abraxas' ability to control his unstable code is so great that he can forcibly meld either part or all of his body with that of his victim's, allowing him to disable or even delete programs from within an opponent. In the event that another avatar is merged with the victim, Abraxas can forcibly rip them from his target, stripping them of any benefits that the fusion granted.
Viral Regeneration:(SCRIPTED ONLY) Abraxas' body is made up of a self replicating virus that can replace or repair damaged sections of it's code without the use of a maintenance program or repair kit. This makes Abraxas almost impossible to kill unless he is completely vaporized.
Code Transfer:(SCRIPTED ONLY) Abraxas has used his mastery over his own code to cheat death even if his regeneration fails him. Abraxas' entire army is built from strains of his own code, because of this, every single soldier under his command is linked to him. This not only ensures complete loyalty from the rank-and-file, but it has also allowed him to secretly hide a copy of his entire being inside of a section of code within every soldier within his army. This essentially makes Abraxas immortal so long as his army remains. The only way to ensure Abraxas' death would be to delete over a million of his troops as well as the hives that make endless replicas of them.
Code Reactivation:(SCRIPTED ONLY) This is perhaps Abraxas' most cruel ability, he can activate latent infections within his victims, either deleting them or rewriting their code in whatever way he desires, the process is incredibly painful to the victim, and Abraxas purposefully makes the process take as long as he possibly can.
Summon Viruses: Abraxas possesses the ability to summon any of his troops from within his own code, this gives him either the opportunity to continue his mission unimpeded or to throw an opponent off balance and deal with them. He can either summon 6 weak viruses, 4 moderate viruses, or 2 tough viruses. He also has the ability to summon 1 incredibly powerful virus, but he rarely does so. He cannot mix and match multiple difficulties of virus, and he cannot summon more of them until the viruses have been deleted and the cool down for that specific difficulty has passed. To see the various types of Viruses that Abraxas has access to, please see the bestiary here.
-Weak Viruses: Abraxas can summon 6 Drones or fliers, or 3 of each. These viruses are dangerous, but a capable fighter should have little difficulty against these viruses, often used as a distraction. Abraxas must wait for 3 posts after the viruses have been deleted before he can summon any more viruses.
-Moderate Viruses: Abraxas can summon 4 Stalkers or Brawlers, or 2 of each. These Viruses are meant to wear down an opponent or delete a small number of weaker foes, the danger level of these viruses are much higher than that of the weak viruses, but a small team of skilled fighters or one specialist should be able to cope. Abraxas must wait for 5 posts after the viruses have been dealt with until he can summon more.
-Tough Viruses: Abraxas can summon 2 Brutes or Rippers, or one of each. These Viruses are used to wipe out large groups of standard combatants (10 plus) or to force an exceptional combatant to their knees, the danger posed by this type of virus is extreme, a large force of skilled fighters or at least 6 combat specialists are recommended for efficient deletion. Abraxas must wait for 7 posts after the viruses have been deleted before he can summon more.
-Alpha Virus:(SCRIPTED ONLY) Abraxas can summon either a Gigant or a Leviathan if the need arises. These Viruses should only be encountered in the event of a siege situation, if Abraxas has summoned one of these to take down more than 50 targets, the target is either incredibly powerful, or has enraged Abraxas to the extent that he wants to make an example of them, neither option is pleasant to think about. These Viruses are S-class to borderline X-class, as such, these are to be deleted with MAXIMUM force by no less than 100 plus officers, 25 or more combat experts or preferably military equipment. Abraxas can only summon one of these viruses per battle and twice per thread.
