Name: Zeus
Avatar Style: Viral
Gender: Male
Appearance: link
User: None
Personality: Psychopathic is a bit of an understatement to describe Zeus' personality. Being mostly made of viruses and malware, his preferred hobbies are to steal and corrupt any data he can get his hands on. When it comes to other avatars, he tends to be manipulative. He often tries using logic to convince others to turn on each other, or to follow his orders. Anyone who doesn't conform to his logics and sides with him, he will either make them follow him by forceful infection, or outright delete them if they continue to resist him. He despises purists who see viruses as nothing but waste of code that makes the world worse, and will often target them specifically for just that reason, and anyone who supports them. At times, when enraged, Zeus can even take on feral character traits, acting more like a virus than an avatar.
History: Born from relics of the past, Zeus is an amalgamation of several forms of viruses and malware, all combined to lead to his creation. Studying his own code, he found one virus in particular who's name resonated with him. Claiming the mantle of 'Zeus', he found himself shunned by other avatars, never fitting in regardless of what network he found himself in.
He eventually found himself in the wastelands of the Antarctic server, deletion and consuming viruses that only fueled his desire for more destruction and corruption of society's outlook on his kind. He was lucky enough to find his way to the center of the server, where the underground network's entrance was hidden. After a bit of 'persuading', he was able to find his way to the underground, where he honed the abilities of his malicious code, and where he plots to bring the network to ruin, leaving only a corrupted cyberworld for those that he deemed worthy to live in.
Add-Ons:
Viral Aura: Zeus' core emits a powerful viral aura, strong enough that anyone within a 5 foot radius of him can be infected with whatever viral code he has active at the time just by being near him. Avatars must stay within this 5 foot radius to become completely infected, and the length of time within the aura is the same amount of time needed to cleanse the viral code from their systems. If a previously compromised target isn't completely cleaned of viruses, re-entering the aura will resume the infection from the point at which the avatar had stopped repairing its code.
EX: A 4 post partially infected avatar manages to escape before becoming fully infected. After re-entering the aura with only 2 posts of repairing its code, the avatar is already restarting its infection with 2 posts of infection on its counter.
Zeus can also channel his aura into dense, cone-like needles from his palms and fingers that he can impale other avatars with and infect them instantaneously. When trying to infect avatars and other digital entities directly that are protected by armor (firewall/antivirus protection in comparison), he must focus on weak points in the armor to infect the target.
Note - Armored targets cannot be infected by contact with the aura unless the Nimda code is active.
"Zeus" Code: A stem of the malware found in the 21st century. The code's main purpose is to forcibly install compressed, barely detectable code into other machines, infecting them with his data and hiding dormant in the registry until a specific event is triggered. This event; should the original or currently active Zeus be deleted, one of the infected devices or programs will either spawn Zeus from its code by forcibly expelling from the server, or completely overtake the avatar infected by the viral code, and reformat him completely to reincarnate Zeus (unless the machine was cleaned of viruses and the Zeus code was one of them), detaching them from the terminal the avatar came from. This program is always active, and Zeus can use it anytime on any server, virus, sprite, or avatar. This code is identifiable by a blood red viral aura. Infection time needed: 6 posts unless scripted.
"Alureon" Code: A stem of virus that allows Zeus to steal information from other programs, and allows him to use that data until he discards the code, or it is too damaged to use. The aura around Zeus' body turns orange when using this virus, and the virus doesn't need to stay active to use the stolen code. After initial infection, all Zeus has to do is touch the infected individual to steal their data. Zeus is only able to steal and use one program at a time, and must discard the current program before he can use another one. Infection time needed to steal code: 3+ posts.
Combat - Armor: After stealing code from multiple avatars, Zeus has developed his own form of armor, complete with a double-bladed sword. The black spikes on the armor can move with Zeus' will, and can also inject viral code into his targets. The spikes on his armor change color depending on the active code to be injected.
"CodeRed" Code: A stem of virus that grants Zeus access to vulnerabilities in the network itself, letting him enter secure sites through undiscovered backdoors in the servers. This code is passive, and Zeus only needs to infect a site to enter it without worrying about the security systems. Length of time for infection is between 2-3 posts, but off scene infections are instant (just because it isn't shown how long he has been infecting the system).
Downloaded Programs:
"Nimda" Code: A stem of virus that forces openings in a program's defenses to allow hackers and viruses access. This code is installed via contact, and the viral aura around his body adds a dark green wisp to his current viral aura. This is the one type of viral code that can work in conjunction with his other programs.
"Stuxnet" Code: (SCRIPTED ONLY) A stem of virus that allows Zeus to take remote control of machinery in the physical world, and wreak havoc on the unsuspecting victims of that world. The aura on Zeus' body turns indigo when using this virus.
"Conficker" Code: (SCRIPTED ONLY) A stem of virus that can take control of digital lifeforms and do his bidding, turning avatars into 'zombie computers', these avatars can be freed of the zombie code if hit with enough antiviral weapons, or deletion if the avatar comes from a V3 or higher terminal. Deleting the current incarnation of Zeus will also free the infected target of control of the virus, but the virus will remain until it can be removed manually. This virus is identifiable by a greenish silver aura.
"Cryptolocker" Code: A stem of virus that encrypts the code of anything he touches, rendering downloaded programs inaccessible and useless. But this is only if he is able to touch an avatar after initial infection, a different effect will occur if he touches an active program. Melee weapons will bounce off of everything it comes in contact with, not doing any damage, Ranged weapons will not even fire any projectiles, and shields/barriers are pretty much nonexistent, allowing anything through its defenses like an intangible wall. Zeus is the only one with the encryption key, but getting him to willingly hand the key over is like trying to convince a monk to commit an unprovoked act of violence. Zeus' viral aura will turn a pitch black when active. Infection time needed: 5 posts. Length of duration of the virus before removal and encryption is cracked: 7 posts
Viral Generation: Being an avatar made from viruses and malware, Zeus is able to summon lesser viruses that follow his command. He can summon up to 5 weak viruses, 3 moderately tough viruses, and one very tough virus respectively, but can't summon different types. Requires a cool down of 3 posts minimum after all viruses have been deleted.
-Weak Viruses: 5 small, flying viruses are spawned. Fast, but incredibly weak against experienced fighters. A few solid hits can dispose of each one easily, and a power strike could dispose of one immediately. These are more to distract the target until they can be infected by one of Zeus' viral codes. Style of virus depends on the network spawned in.
-Moderate Viruses: 3 quadrupedal viruses of medium size and strength are spawned. These viruses are a slower than the weaker viruses, but can take and dish out more hits than the weaker ones. These viruses are more for evening the odds, if Zeus is surrounded by a small group all aimed for him. Type of virus depends on network spawned (this category also includes giant bug-type viruses such as scorpions, spiders, and centipedes). This virus class requires a 5 post cool down after deletion.
-Tough Virus: A single, large virus of A or S-class strength and size is spawned. Unlike the other, group spawned viruses, this one can range from different classes of virus. He could spawn a dragon, a chimera, an environmental virus, or several other A-S rank viruses. These are the hardest to delete, and its powerful attacks are used mostly for wreaking havoc while the 'good guys' protect cyber city from destruction, Leaving Zeus to either leave, or finish his business uninterrupted. Virus types depend on the network spawned. This virus requires a 5 post cool down after deletion.
Viral Rampage: This program typically is only used on two occasions. Either he is fighting a tough opponent who can manage to counter everything he can do, or someone has enraged him to the point of going into a berserk fury. Zeus' body literally becomes a viral code magnet, and he begins absorbing excess amounts of corrupted data. After two posts of absorbing countless streams of viral code, his body explodes, and all that's left is a viral beast that is more than 10 times Zeus' original medium size. In this form, he isn't able to access any of his viral codes, but his power output is much greater, his ability to take hits is greatly improved, and he can create tremors in the ground with his fists that can force people close-by off balance. Lasts 10 posts, only usable once per battle, and twice per thread.
