Name: Mary Richards
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Erika Matsumoto, Herself
Avatar: Totenkopf (German for "Death's Head" or Skull and crossbones.)
Relationships: Erika Matsumoto(Girlfriend)
Appearance: Mary is an extremely attractive woman, she has a somewhat curvaceous figure and a slightly tanned complexion. She has a light amount of muscle but it doesn't take away from her feminine figure(Think Samus Aran's build in Super Metroid). Her hair is a rosewood color that seems to clash wildly with her silver eyes. Her hair is about shoulder length but is almost always kept up in a ponytail. When she's working in her shop, Mary can usually be seen wearing a black muscle shirt and mid-thigh length denim shorts and heavy work boots. When she's out and about, her wardrobe becomes more... "Kid friendly", she usually wears an unzipped light jacket over a black t-shirt with Dark blue jeans and heavy work boots. Mary's never seen without her dual shoulder holsters and pistols, when she's in the shop they're in plain view, but she tends to wear them underneath her jacket when she's out of the house.
Personality: Mary's personality is almost the exact opposite of Erika's in terms of communication. Erika is more soft-spoken and articulate when it comes to talking to people. Mary is loud, brash and somewhat vulgar, when under stress or angered her language is full of various obscenities and crude nicknames for the people who awaken her temper. Mary's temperament is similar to how she speaks, she's prone to act without thinking and often defaults to fighting when she's provoked. The only person whom she shows any real form of tenderness to is Erika, who's the only one capable of calming her down when her temper goes nuclear. Despite her explosive temperament and impulsive personality, Mary is rather intelligent, once she starts to learn something she quickly becomes proficient at it. This makes her the 'Jack(or Jill) of all trades' of the group. She does have two skills that she excels at however, gun play and mechanical engineering. Mary often boasts that she's one of the best gunfighters in the world, and it wouldn't be much of a stretch to say so. She's one of the few people in the world who can dual-wield a weapon and fire with any kind of accuracy, and her accuracy is almost supernatural in appearance. She can hit a target between the eyes at approximately 300 yards, and she can still aim with some degree of accuracy even while diving around and leaping between pieces of cover, though it does take a big hit because of her acrobatics. Her mechanical skills are almost second to none, she can repair anything from a car engine to the mechanical components in a cybernetic limb. She actually makes most of her money by doing off the books modifications to cybernetic limbs, though she has strict guidelines, if the person is a known felon or isn't considered trustworthy to use the upgrade responsibly(Provided that the upgrade is offensive.) she won't take the job. Mary has a slight rebellious streak, often butting heads with people with a higher rank than her. This trait has been around since her days in the NPD, though since her retirement it's only become more pronounced.
History: Mary Richards was born on a military base to James Richards and his wife Elizabeth. Mary's childhood was a happy one, despite her parent's jobs forcing them to move frequently and causing them to become somewhat distant from their daughter. Mary first learned how to shoot from her father at age 10, and quickly took a shine to it, rapidly gaining skill and oftentimes being seen in the base's shooting range putting holes in paper targets. After about 10 years of service and rising to the rank of lieutenant, James was honorably discharged from the armed forces and the family settled down in New York City. Mary entered 10th grade that same year and quickly became enthralled with machinery in her auto-shop class, like with shooting, Mary became a quick study and became obsessed with cars and other machines. At the same time as Mary's introduction to the world of machines, James had begun to collect old guns, trying to find a way to pass the time since his retirement. Noticing that Mary had taken a liking to old cars, and knowing of their mutual love for firearms, Elizabeth got James and Mary to bond over their shared hobbies. The two quickly became inseparable, they would both pour over stacks of books related to old cars and books filled with information about vintage guns. After Mary graduated from high-school, she approached her parents about joining the police force, oddly enough it was James who seemed to be leery about Mary becoming a police officer. But after being spoken to by Elizabeth and being told by Mary that she wouldn't take any unnecessary risks, James backed down and gave Mary his blessing. Mary entered the police academy at 19 years old and quickly became famous for her skill with firearms. After about a year in the police academy, Mary graduated with record breaking scores in marksmanship. It was soon after her graduation that she met Erika Matsumoto, the two became fast friends, and soon enough they were inseparable. Mary and Erika worked together for 4 years, and continued to see each other while Erika trained to enter the SWAT team. It was during this period that Mary was confronted by her feelings for Erika. after grappling with her feelings for about 4 months, Mary finally went to her father and asked him for his input, he was somewhat surprised at first, but he quickly laughed and told her, "I thought cops were supposed to be good at picking up on clues. You're in love hon!" James was supportive of Mary's feelings, having met Erika beforehand after Mary had invited her over to her home to introduce her to her parents. Mary finally worked up the courage to ask Erika out on a date, and the rest is history between the two. After Erika decided to become an EOD consultant, Mary decided to get a new apartment, instead she found an old Mechanic's with a loft above it. Mary purchased the old building and began renovating it, moving in with Erika about a year after she first bought it. Mary opened up a repair shop to help Erika with bringing in some money. Though the shop started as a simple vehicle repair shop, it quickly grew into a restoration company that focused on old vehicles, with Mary offering legally bought cybernetic upgrades(Thought she isn't technically licensed to install them.). It was during this period that she herself had some implants installed to increase her abilities. Mary still runs the shop, and continually offers Alexi free Cybernetic upgrades as a way of thanking him for helping Erika.
Special Skills: Expert Gunfighter: Erika possesses a frightening amount of skill in most types of firearms, she's an expert at pistol fighting, and can use most rifles and shotguns at about the same level as someone with military training. The only firearms she can't use all that well are high caliber rifles(Meaning anything over 10mm) or sniper rifles.
Mechanical Expert: Mary has a great amount of skill in repairing and assembling mechanical objects, she can jury rig a car engine or install a new upgrade for a cybernetic limb. Her abilities when it comes to vehicles ends at cars ,motorcycles and boats. Planes or military vehicles are above her skill set.
Special Equipment: Dual .45 Caliber Magnums: These pistols are the only things that could compete for Mary's love for Erika, Mary is NEVER seen without at least one of these pistols within arm's reach. Mary's dual pistols are custom made to her exact specifications. The pistols firing mechanism has been completely reworked to accept magnum loaded .45 caliber rounds((The cartridges are longer and hold more powder, giving the bullet more speed, and by extension more power.)) The pistols have extended barrels and slides made out of stainless steel and are decorated with fine etchings along the slide. The grips have also been lengthened to even out the weight of the gun as well as accommodate a larger 15 round clip as opposed the the usual 8. The gun can accept a standard Tac-light/Red dot sight combo, but Mary rarely uses it.
Cybernetic Implants: Mary has several cybernetic implants that can enhance her abilities to higher levels.
Reflex Enhancing Implants: Mary has several implants installed inside her inner ear and cerebellum, these implants help her maintain her balance and boost her fine motor skills to extreme levels, these implants are part of the reason that she's such a formidable gunfighter, abilities that were once considered excellent are now boosted to exceptional levels.
Ocular Implants: These implants enhance Mary's vision, the specific implants that she has installed give her low light vision and can read a person's vital signs with a single glance. These Implants have a small side effect, When Mary becomes angry or emotionally stressed, her irises tend to flare bright crimson.
Armored V5 Terminal: Mary's terminal has had extra armor made from Carbon Nano-tube Material added to it. This keeps it from getting destroyed in a gunfight or from being damaged by a piece of machinery in the mechanical shop.
