Here are some simple forum rules that all members are required to follow. These rules are subject to change as things are brought to light about issues on the forum:
1) No flaming, trolling, or spamming.
2) Obey all staff orders unless deemed inappropriate or abusive of power. If a member feels that one or more staff member(s) is abusing their power, please report it to an administrator for review.
3) Be respectful towards other members of the forum. Flaming to intentionally harass
4) Any hacking, or threats of hacking, will result in termination of your account and banning of your IP address (as in, the internet connection you use to get to the site) as well as any other means of trying to access the forum. No warnings, no exceptions.
5) No excessive use of any cryptic language such as leet speak (1337 5p34k). Abbreviations like lol or wtf are fine, but keep them out of gameplay (unless your character speaks like that on purpose, in which case the staff may make an exception.
Now, onto Roleplaying rules:
1) No god-modding/meta-gaming/power-playing. Violating this rule will result in a warning, then temporary suspension of forum access
2) If your post requires the cooperation of another player's character(s), ask for permission before doing anything with them. Neglecting to do so will be treated as a violation of rule 1 and necessary action will be taken.
3) Keep all personal issues out of gameplay. Like acting, roleplaying is a story told by an unbiased script. Putting any issues you may have with another member only sours the mood and breaks character for RPCs (role-play characters), making them act how they shouldn't.
4) This is a PG14 rated forum, so nothing mature. Suggestive comments and images are fine, but there won't be any NSFW content allowed on this forum. If you like that kind of stuff, take it somewhere else.
|Minor Ammendment to rule 4: If, on the off chance that there are role-play characters that share a romantic relationship, and one or both members want to emphasize that the aforementioned characters are intimately involved, the participating members are required to use a fade-to-black method that skips the graphic material between the characters and moves to the end, or even the next day after the 'event' occurred.
5) Multiple characters are allowed, so feel free to make as many different characters as you want...Just don't go making them all to end up being an unstoppable army or I will take action against this. And try to avoid making Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters. We don't mind if you want to base characters off of an idea, but if you practically copy another popular idea from a show or game you enjoy, without making it unique (and by that I mean more than just the name changing and changes in appearance, we prefer ORIGINAL ideas here), that's not gonna fly. Another thing to point out is that while there is no character limit, it is recommended that members not make more characters than they are able to play as actively. We reserve the right to deny or suspend the approval of a character if one a member is not able to keep up with the use of their current characters or the threads they're in. We also reserve the right to deny a character if we believe them to be solely used as a plot device. That is the abuse of the character creation system, and is not appreciated.
6) Any out of character messages should be placed in ((double parenthesis)), so as not to be mistaken for actual gameplay dialect. This prevents confusion and helps to either explain something in a member's post or to ask for permission to use another player's character. While small messages are alright, please take multiple paragraph messages to the PM boxes, or an OOC (out of character) thread, we don't want IC (in character) content cluttered with lines of OOC messages.
7) Have fun, but try to make sure everyone else is having fun as well. Our main priority is making sure everyone is having a good time, people won't stay if the content is dull, uninteresting, or if someone/something is killing the mood for them. The main moral of this is to not try and make yourself the center of the universe, because that isn't fun for anyone but the one playing the part, and will likely end up with people leaving the thread.

Actions taken in response to breaking these rules are as follows:
First time offense: Staff will discuss the issues with the member(s) and try to steer them away from such courses of action. No actions will be taken on their account(s).
Repeated offenses: If three or more offenses listed in the rules above are made, staff may remove the message(s) responsible, with reason(s) behind it, and the member profile(s) will receive a warning level of 50%. This action can be immediately taken with any acts of godmodding/power-playing.
Ignored warnings and repeated offenses: If the offender(s) chooses to ignore the warnings and neglect to learn from their mistakes, they will receive a warning level of 100%, and will be banned for one week. The member(s) will maintain this 100% warning level upon return from the ban, but can go down as the member(s) show they have learned from their mistakes. A 50% level will be left on the member(s) account to remind them of their mistakes.
Increases in ban level: If the member(s) continue to break the rules of the forum while holding a warning level, the length of the ban can increase with each offense. The increases are as follows:
1st ban: One week
2nd Ban: One month
3rd Ban: Three months
4th Ban: Permanent
We do not want people who will break the rules ruining the fun for other members, but we are not without reason to try and give people a chance to redeem themselves. However, people who clearly can't learn from their mistakes won't be allowed to stay.
