Name: John Gale, "Eos"
Age: 19
Gender Male
Appearance:
Personality: Helpful, Loyal, pragmatic, cunning, brutal. He will generally move with caution, and will not hesitate to do what it takes to achieve his goals. On a more positive note, he is what could kindly be described as a playful troll, and will not go out of his way to hurt others. He will point out a problem with your plans if he sees it, but will do so in a way that, while it is poking fun at you, helps you learn to avoid making the same mistake twice.
Affiliation: Downtown
History:
Avatar: Altair
----------
Name: Altair
Gender: Male...we think. Honestly, we aren't sure.
Appearance:
Combat Mode - djahal.deviantart.com/art/Galaxy-Saga-applibot-Orbital-sniper-advanced-367545015
(Unit is as shown with the following changes/additions: Altairis has lightly armored shields on his lower arms. An example would be the left arm in this pic. These contain his blades and PDW system)
Standard Mode - rinnemi.deviantart.com/art/Original-Character-460678709
(DLC used to allow Altairis move through the 'net without drawing undue attention. Explained below.)
Partner: John Gale
Avatar Style: Assault Flanker (A flanker that can run the distraction if needed. More on the Glass Cannon side of a Lightning Bruiser)
Personality:
Altair is all business. Whether it's playing cards or getting into a firefight in the Underground, Altair is 100% business 100% of the time. Or so he likes to project. When alone with his user or with trusted friends, he is much more laid back. His inordinately dry wit, almost to the point where you can never tell if he is serious or not, does not lend itself well to this though. But at least he isn't as serious as he normally is.
As far as we can tell, anyway.
Addons:
Battle Blades - Small, two and a quater foot blades stored in his arm shields and used for close quarters combat. The blades cannot penetrate medium or heavy armor, however, forcing him to find and exploit weakspots against tougher foes.
Hard to Hit - Like most units of the Flanker archetype, Altair is fast and manoeuvrable, thanks to a series of small thrust units mounted across his body. Though not as fast as a true Flanker, his mobility allows him to dodge fire that other units of his relative size would be forced to simply tank.
Armored Pea Shooters - As a primary ranged weapon, Altair sports two 5.6mm PDWs, one in each arm shield. With a fire rate of well over 1200 rounds per minute, these PDWs will tear through lighter armored foes without much difficulty, however the armor piercing rounds suffer a serious damage reduction against minimally armored foes. (The shots have a tendency to punch clean through without actually doing any damage to internal components) The guns have an average effective range, but low damage per shot and accuracy is limited during full fire rates. However, at close ranges they can easily punch through and do damage to very heavily armored opponents.
(think the wrist mounted guns on War Machine from the Iron Man movies. Very, very high fire rate and penetrate but lacking in dps output and accuracy, though unlike WM Altair has a recoil suppression system)
Tis but a Flesh Wound - Unlike standard Flanker type avatars, Altair is actually capable of taking hits do to this addon. It adds a reinforced network of woven kevlar and other composites into Altair's frame, and allows him to, for a limited time, ignore damage that would otherwise kill him.
(Depending on the lethality of the damage, the time could be anywhere from 2-5 posts)
With but a Single Leap - Altair sports a VTOL thrust system built into his shoulders, legs, and back that allow him flight capabilities. However, due to his mass, the system has been overclocked to generate enough lift. The result being that the thrusters can only fire for up to 30 seconds before overheating, which requires 2 minutes for them to cool enough to be used again. As such, Altair generally fires them in quick bursts, using them to "hop" over or around his foes, cushion his falls, or "boost" across the ground at high speed. (Think of it like the boost ability from Armored Core. Massive thrust, but for a very limited time before you overheat and have to wait for it to cool.
DLC:
Chameleon - Chameleon is a small DLC that switches Altair to his second, less conspicuous form. While in this form his internal weapons are locked and cannot be used, and he has far, far less armor. He is, however, might lighter and stealthier.
Switchblade - This DLC converts the wrist mount for Altair's blades into an armored glove that fits into and around his hand. This allows him to use his blades like shortswords, and allows him to almost double the effectiveness of his blades. However, this DLC will disable his PDWs while in use.
Into the Inferno - This DLC takes the form of a collection of 40mm grenade dischargers loaded with incendiary canister shot. When activated, they will deploy on his shoulders, thighs, and the sides of his chest and detonate, hitting everything within 240 degrees of front. Limited in range and prone to misfiring/exploding, it is only used when being mobbed, due to the fact that it will hurt both the user AND the target relatively equally.
Slammer Smart Rifle - The Slammer, shown here, is a prototype bullpup rifle that fires 35x82mm grenades. However, it has been modified by Eos to fire small rolling airframe missiles. These missiles can be set to track either heat sources of sufficient magnitude, or an IR laser integrated into the sight. Slammer missiles come in HEAT, and HEI varieties. The Slammer itself uses 5 round magazines, though individual missiles may be loaded through a hatch on the top back. As the modifications to the Slammer are not fully legal for use outside of certain tournaments, it is seldom deployed unless the situation is dire enough.
Biwheeled Drive System - This DLC, when activated, generates a motorcycle addon that Altair can dock to, allowing him high speed transportation.
