Name: Princes Deliliah Windsor II
Alias: Alice Lamperouge
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Runaway princess, though law abiding when she can be without revealing her identity
Avatar: Niela
Appearance: link Starting off, Deliliah looked nothing like she does today. She used to have fiery red, curly hair, and a much lighter complexion. Since running away to the states, she now looks far different, with a darker complexion, dark, brunette hair, and her grafted cat ears and tail were darkened brown as well. In all senses of the word, she is a completely different person on the outside.
Personality: She can be a little rough around the edges, but she can be far more pleasant when her trust or respect is earned. However, getting on her bad side is far worse than being caught by the officials. She tends to be very violent when someone manages to make her angry. Not many has ever really seen her affectionate side, though some of her closest friends from childhood do believe she wouldn't soften up if she fell in love. If anything, they believe she'd stay the same person if she were in a relationship.
History: To start, Deliliah had a rather uneventful life as she was raised as the soul heir to the throne of Britain. As a child, she was never allowed to leave the palace unless she was by her fathers side, the only real glimpses of a bigger world beyond the palace walls were the sights outside the royal gates, or accompany her father King Lloyd Windsor on his trips. Even then, she wasn't allowed to venture more than five feet from him, and have to endure his meetings with other royalty or high end company officials.
For much of her life, as per the norm of princes and princesses, she was taught etiquette, as well as other recreational arts like playing a piano. She always questioned why she had to learn the sort of stuff she was being taught. Learning fundamental lessons was obviously a no brainer, she wouldn't be respected as a princess if she didn't. All the other stuff though was more confusing to her. Her parents had her learn a number of different instruments like the violin and a harp, and though she liked playing the music, she didn't believe learning how to play them was that important.
One of the few recreational activities she did want to learn was Fencing. However, her father tended to think like his head revolved in olden times, and forbade her from learning such things. His words were always that a gentleman handles any conflict that came her way, and that a lady should just watch from the sidelines. And every time he said such things, she would storm away in anger.
By the time she reached her teen years, Deliliah was bored of her mundane life as a princess. With her father strict about so many things she wasn't allowed to do, the only thing she could really look forward to were visits from her friends from other kingdoms in the world. However, she was given a fairly nice surprise on her thirteenth birthday in the form of a new V5 wrist-mounted terminal as a present from her father. She had never expected it, and most of her anger towards her father had lifted. However, later in the evening when she was all by herself in her room, she found as she booted it up that instead of being greeted by a pre-programmed avatar, she found it held no avatar at all, or even a program to help create one of her own. Though slightly disheartened after she learned this fact, she found she still had some basic access to the internet. In his own way, he was only extended her reach into the outside only a short distance when he gave the device to her, and muttered to herself in her privacy, "Of course he wouldn't let me reach out."
With no help to keep her terminal protected, she fumbled around with what she could access on the internet, and already expected to get infected with a virus with in the week. And in fact, an unexpected event happened to her, though it wasn't a virus like she expected. Luckily for her, a female, semi-peaceful rogue avatar appeared on the screen, and told her off for not even attempting to install protection software. A following argument between the two of them ensued as Deliliah retorted back at the avatar about her father's strict policy. This excuse did not amuse the avatar at all, apparently mad the princess wasn't even trying to extend her reach without her fathers notice.
They argued for the better half of an hour before they both calmed down. The avatar then offered to help protect Deliliah's terminal for her, and in exchange, she would let the her reside there until she decided it was time for her to leave. At first, Deliliah didn't know what to make of the avatars proposition, though as she thought about it, she would have a lot more help learning more about the world she lived on. There was barely a second thought when she accepted the deal, and shortly introduced herself. She never knew if her new partner felt relieved or relaxed, but she then learned her name was Niela. That was about the only information she ever got from her.
It didn't take long for her father to learn what had happened afterword, and while he was obviously fuming above the collar, her mother, Deliliah Windsor I, managed to talk him into letting it slide just once. For once in her dull life, Deliliah believed she had finally found some form of light to brightened up the dreariness she had felt for such a long time. Though she still had to practice her recreational lessons, she now had someone else to talk to besides the maids and butlers, who never really talked to her in the first place.
Over the next couple of years, with Niela's help, she discovered quite a few things on the internet. Some things she found she wished she could scrub her brain clean of. She wondered how people could be so creepy, and just down right disturbing. Out of the popular, yet freaky, stuff people seemed to be doing outside the royal palace, she stumbled onto something that drew her attention more than others. Grafting animal parts onto their bodies caught her attention in a rather unique way. Most images she found were of handsome boys or cute girls with ears and tails seemingly sewed neatly onto their bodies that it almost seemed like it were natural. Yet, there were some images she found where some people took to it in the extreme. These images weren't really the stuff she looked for when she wanted to see more, though they obviously appeared just as often as the more tame photos. She still gets the uncomfortable shivers just thinking it.
On her sixteenth birthday, Deliliah bluntly asked her parents if she could have cat ears and cat tail grafted on to her. While her father fumed, her mother on the other hand was a bit confused. She then showed several choice images to her mother, explaining what she meant in the first place. Deliliah I was about to respond when she understood what her daughter had meant, but her father shouted in outright denial. He forbade her from ever asking such a thing again, and almost took her terminal away if she hadn't evaded him. That was the only time she ever shed tears in front of anyone, and quickly ran as fast as she could back to her room, quickly locking everyone out so they wouldn't bother her. Her mother and even Niela tried to comfort her for the next few days, her partner even saying Lloyd had overreacted far too much at just a simple question.
She spent the majority of the next two weeks holed up in her room, and didn't bother to leave it no matter who came to the door. It stayed locked unless one of the maids came to bring her food. Otherwise, it stayed shut and locked, and didn't even bother to give her father an answer the few times he tried to talk to her. It was only at the end of the second day that her mother came to door with good news. Lloyd had finally given in to her birthday request, and her mother was going to accompany her instead of her father as he had left the previous for an important trip. At the end of the following day, Deliliah was back home from her rather hastened appointment with cute orange furred cat ears and tail grafts. She was far more surprised when she returned to see her long distance friends had shown up for a very late birthday party, all thanks to her father, surprisingly enough. At that point in time, she felt like she would fairly happy for a long time.
Her happiness proved to be short lived though in the next couple of years, as a month before her nineteenth birthday, her father Lloyd told her she was to be married someone important. She was understandably angry when she learned she was having an arranged marriage, and to someone she didn't even know to begin with. However, he told her that she had no say in the matter, making her far more angry. The following three weeks proved taxing for her when she finally met the man she was to wed, and his father. Her first meeting with him already had chills running up her spine. She did her best to pretend to be happy about the occasion, but no matter what her "groom" did or said, she couldn't help but feel utterly mad. She vented her frustrations every night to Niela, the rogue avatar not really understanding what the big deal was to begin with anyway. She did listen though so she didn't end up on Deliliah's nerves.
One night as she was heading towards her room, however, Deliliah passed by her "groom to be"'s guest room, and overheard something she didn't need to hear as he conversed with his father. Now not only was she nervous about the man, she felt inexplicably angry about the entire arranged marriage. She tried to her best to tell her father that she couldn't marry him, but he didn't hear a word of it. His word was final it seemed. Three night before her birthday arrived, she began to ponder what she should do to save herself from her so appointed fate. It was then Niela suggested that she do something she shouldn't, and that was to run away. Deliliah had her doubts about doing such a thing. She felt it obvious the guy would employ whatever means necessary to make sure she stayed right where she was.
Niela then said she could teach her how she could make her escape, guide her through the ropes, and help her get away from the situation at least long enough for it to defuse itself. She spent the entirety of the next day ignoring everyone, her thoughts wrapped up over what she should do. It was obvious she couldn't marry the guy, it was obvious to her that he was bad news. And even though running away seemed to have some merits, doing so was such a childish thing to do, and ruin whatever reputation she might have. She finally made her decision on the eve of her coming birthday, and started packing only a few things to take with her. She couldn't stay, even if it meant angering her father. There was no way she was going to marry such a creep. And thanks to Niela's help, she managed to leave the palace she called home.
The following morning proved fairly difficult as she ducked in and out of alley's just to get to the harbor. A quick search on the internet showed there was a cruise liner setting sail for the neighboring continent, and that was where she was heading. She barely had enough time to take in the sights and sounds of the city around her, completely excited about being on her own. At one point during the afternoon, someone who had been searching for her managed to spot her, and it became a race for her to lose the chaser. It was only through Niela's quick guidance that Deliliah managed to lose the guy, and still manage to end up closer to the harbor than before.
Once they made it to harbor, it proved just barely difficult for Deliliah to sneak on board, and hide herself inside a broom closet until the ship set sailed. It took a long while after sneaking aboard, but when the ship finally began move, she looked through a peephole watch her homeland become smaller in the distance. Once the land was gone from view, she sank back in her hiding spot, and started to laugh to herself. She would never admit it, but she had been so afraid, so nervous, and so excited the entire day. She had managed, with some help from her friend, Niela, to leave her home behind.
As she waited for the cruise liner to reach the other shore, Deliliah and Neila began strategizing how to stay hidden from whoever might try to hunt her down; appearance changes, lifestyle changes, how she presented herself, and how to protect herself. Everything about her had to be masked by someone completely new, even her identity. She had no idea what to expect, but she hoped that everything turned out to be as exciting as the cruise liner sailed for New York, America.
