Name: Halberd
Avatar Style: Combat/Rogue
Gender: Male
Appearance: link
User: N/A
Personality: Halberd is harsh, cold hearted, and remorseless. He takes pride in the destruction and chaos he unleashes upon both the physical and digital worlds, and always craves more havoc that he can wreak. His core design was to fight stronger opponents, but after its corruption, it has been perverted to undermining and overpowering the weak to push his own power and influence on others in the Underground. He has a strong hatred for humans, and sees them as nothing but meat sacks that are only good for maintaining his world. He also holds unwavering resentment towards those avatars that take the side of humans and wish to live alongside them in harmony.
He also has a habit of holding grudges against anyone who fights his rule, and makes it his duty to punish those who resist his authority, through reconditioning, or deletion. The two top avatars on his list; Saber, the 'boy scout' as he calls him, and Dagger, who he believes is nothing more than a traitor to his cause and a thorn in his side.
History: Halberd was one of a set of three prototype avatars designed to handle viruses that couldn't be deleted or apprehended from a distance, his role being the power class of the trio. After the thunderstorm during the final stage of development, their personality programming, Halberd's data was less complete than the other two, and was far more corrupted. Due to the black-out and reboot when the backup power kicked in, he and the stealth avatar; Dagger, were prematurely activated. Driven mad by the corruption in his programming, heshattered the containment program with a single swing from his massive sword before escaping to the vast internet., using the random bytes of data to complete their programming.
After escaping containment and tasting freedom for the first time, he and Dagger worked together to figure out their roles in the new virtual world. But their views were vastly different from one another, and Dagger left to pursue his own path. Enraged by his former colleague abandoning him, he went on a brief rampage that leveled a decent part of the North American Cyber City, one memorable part of the Cyber city being a replica of the Statue of Libertym which required weeks of reconstruction after Halberd went off the grid.
He had been in hiding for a long time, biding his time to find the best ways to deliver a heavy blow to those that created him, and their entire race. Any avatar or program that stood in his way in the past has gone missing, assumed to have been deleted upon discovery of his current whereabouts, evident by many reports to the NPD by citizens who's avatars were victimized by an unknown avatar wielding a giant sword. He is currently in a high position in the Underground Network's hierarchy of power.
Add-Ons:
Data Breaker Blade: A massive double-edged Data Blade, with additional firewall damaging properties. It is capable of damaging protective layers much more efficiently than most un-modded weapons.
Data Devastating cannons: Large De-Rez cannons built into his palms. These cannons do twice as much damage as the average DeRez blaster
Reinforced Combat Armor: A stronger combat armor with Increased durability and third party antivirus protection software.
Data Breaker Wave: An energy projectile in the form of a crescent cutting wave. This wave can be fired out either at a horizontal, vertical, or 45º angle. It has just as much cutting strength as his Data Breaker. One wave per post.
Charge Shot: a blaster mod that increases the damage and diameter of his cannon blasts. The charge doubles for each post that it is charged for, maxing out at 3 charge levels. Cool downs: 1 post charge; 4 post cool down. 2 post charge; 8 post cool down. 3+ charge (max level); 10 post cool down.
Downloaded Programs:
Combat - Triple Wave: Breaker wave mod; triples the number of waves launched out with each slash. Each following slash is sent in the same path as the first one
Combat - Split Wave: Breaker wave mod; five waves are launched simultaneously instead of one. One wave is launched directly ahead of the user, two waves are launched 15º away from the center blade, and another two waves are launched 30º away from the center wave. This mod reduces a small amount of the original power for each wave, each wave dealing s lightly reduced level of damage compared to a normal sword slash or un-modded Breaker Wave.
Combat - Data Absorbtion: The wielder is able to use a weapon or shield add-on to suck in the damage from one attack, and fire it back in a beam of corrupt data. It is only able to absorb one attack, and the rest are fired normally at the target.
Combat - Charged melee: The wielder is able to convert the charge of a "Charge Shot" mod into a single punch, so long as the blasters are built into the arm or hand somehow. Damage is calculated the same as with a Charge shot, but reduced by half.
Combat - Limiter Removal: The wielder can remove the programmed constraints of its internal code to increase either the strength and durability, or speed and maneuverability of the one using the program. The forced removal of these constraints often drive the user into a berserk rampage, and it attacks at random at anything it sets its eyes upon. Halberd's Limiter Removal boosts his strength & durability, lasts for 6 posts, and requires a 10 post cool down.
