Name: Baretta
Avatar Style: Combat/Marksman/Law Enforcement
Gender: Female
Appearance: link
Personality: Baretta's personally can vary dependent on her mood or the situation. Normally, she can be calm, polite, and often a little on the joking side when conversing with avatars normally. If she's in a bad mood, she can sometimes be condescending and at worst, irate. But if she finds herself in a hostile situation or a gun fight, she becomes serious, and straight to the point. She has a strong sense of leadership like her human partner, and takes very little backtalk from her subordinates if the situation is critical enough.
History: Baretta was originally a basic programmed avatar, until Kate's first promotion to lieutenant required a reformatting of her data to distinguish her rank and made her into what she is today. One of the latest of the previous generation of law enforcement avatars, Baretta's prowess with a DeRez pistol was second to none, she was one of the major police programmers' best work yet...That is, until project BladeEdge.
A quick explanation might be in order: Before Saber's generation, most law enforcement was performed with the use of new age firearms (both in and out of Cyber Earth). But when outlaw and/or rogue avatars learned to charge and erase net police avatars one after another with close ranged weapons, the higher ups decided it was time to go back to basics, "The way of the blade" as one of the history nuts explained it. Thus, Project BladeEdge began, and Saber, Dagger, and Halberd were born.
After the accident during production, and Saber's reprogramming, Baretta's user, Kathryn Bale, volunteers herself and her avatar to oversee Jake and Saber when on duty. Baretta's task was to make sure that Saber performed without any glitches or malfunctions suddenly occurring from when the storm first hit the lab.
Add-Ons:
Combat - Dual-wield DeRez Blaster: A pair of blasters with an optional data scrambler mod built in.
Combat - Combat Armor: A protective armor with antivirus software included
Combat - Synch-Shot mod: A blaster mod that allows two additional mods to be combined for use on both blasters simultaneously. Their effects are halved when this mod is in effect.
Combat - Dual-Shot mod: A blaster mod that allows for the use of two blaster mods at the same time. This mod applies one mod for each blaster, and the effects are applied normally.
Connectivity - 4-seat Cyber Speeder: A police issued 4-wheeled cyber speeder that can seat 3 additional passengers in addition to the driver. It's handling in a complex route with sharp turns is mediocre at best during a high speed chase, but it's speed is second to none on a straightaway with minor curves in the road.
Downloaded Programs:
Combat - Homing Shot: A blaster mod that readjusts the trajectory of the bullet to follow its target's movements. It is difficult to dodge, but not unavoidable, and the bullet will stop its course correction and fire as normal if its intended target isn't hit.
Combat - Burst Shot: A blaster mod that fires a larger bullet than normal. The bullet will explode on impact and deals explosive damage depending on the target's distance from the 3ft radius. Limit 2 bursts, cool down of 3 posts.
Combat - Scatter Shot: A blaster mod that fires a larger bullet than normal. The bullet will split into ten smaller bullets for a wider blast area. Limit 3 scatter rounds
Combat - Charge Shot: A powerful blaster mod that deals increased damage and blast radius depending on the length of time the charge is held. 1 post charge; double the normal blaster damage. 2 post charge, damage doubles again for 4 times normal damage (bullet circumference doubles). 3+ post charge; damage doubles again for Maximum damage of 8 times normal blaster damage (bullet circumference doubles again). Cool down range varies depends on the blast charge. 3 post cool down for first charge. 6 post cool down for second charge. 9 post cool down for maximum charge.
Combat - Piercing Shot: A blaster mod that fires the blaster in 3 round bursts. The bullets deal less code damage, and focuses more on breaching the weaknesses in a firewall to force an opening for more damaging attacks.
Combat - Riot Shield: A reinforced shield that can deflect most firearms and explosive damage from the front, it is only as effective as the one holding the shield.
