Name: Dagger
Avatar Style: Rogue Avatar/Stealth combat
Gender: Male
Appearance: link
User: N/A
Personality: Dagger, despite his size, is calm, calculating, and a coldblooded killer. But that isn't to say he isn't without a set of morals that stuck from his original programming as a law enforcer. He has a strong sense of justice, and values his belief of right and wrong over all else. But the bugs in his programming have twisted his morals to make him into a vigilante of sorts, a lawless hero who's stealthy combat style is as difficult to track as his movements. While he normally focuses on keeping Cyber City safe, he has taken to interfering with Halberd's plans however possible, to slow him down long enough for law enforcement to track him down and put an end to his violent tendencies which eventually convinces Saber to give him a bit of leash to continue what he does in Cyber City. Following recent events in his existence, he has learned to show compassion towards those deserving of second chances, and is learning how to show mercy rather than go straight for deletion, thanks to his new friends.
History: The second of three experimental close combat law enforcement avatars for the net police. Dagger was the second avatar to begin construction, so when the power surge occurred, he was the second least affected by the storm. However, he became self aware and breached containment without being seen, along with his much more hostile colleague, Halberd. Initially, Dagger and Halberd cooperated fine after grasping their freedom, but Dagger soon began to see a much darker side of Halberd as the larger avatar began to twist his responsibilities as a fighter into a perverse prejudice towards humans. Not seeing eye-to-eye with Halberd, Dagger parted ways with his former brother in arms, and Dagger took to a more justice fueled path, protecting avatars on Cyber Earth when he is needed, even from the smaller crimes that may be overlooked by law enforcement.
Dagger encountered Lilith, and Merge during one battle while thwarting Halberd's attacks on the cyber cites, and after some cautious dialogue, explained to Lilith that his hostile behavior towards NPD personnel was to keep them at a distance, and avoid exposing a connection that would put them in Halberd's sights prematurely. Lilith convinced Baretta that he was not the enemy, and Dagger departed with Merge by his side, her fusing capabilities aided him numerous times in his crusade to keep the cyber cities safe.
Following the events of a massive virus attack on the NPD server; Dagger, aided by his partner, Merge, assisted int he battle, and managed to keep the server from being wiped out. Realizing that even when distancing himself from his allies, they were still in danger, Dagger decided that the best place for him was close to home. But with the impending war coming from the virus army, he was going to need some upgrades, and Saber was all too happy to aide him.
Add-Ons:
Combat - Dual bladed guns: These weapons are equipped with a silencing program to reduce noise when firing rounds at a target, perfect for stealth attacks from a distance.
Combat - Cyber Shuriken launcher: A wrist-mounted shuriken launcher that can fire up to five shuriken per post.
Combat - Critical Scan: An analyzing program used to find the weak points in an avatar's programming. While this program is active, it can bypass protective layers such as armor, so long as the critical point is struck. This program has been integrated into Dagger's optical code, allowing him to see weak points highlighted with an yellow, orange, or red hue, depending on the damage severity. This program is always active.
Connectivity - Grav-Boots: Special connectivity attachment that allows Dagger to leap high into the air and seem to glide in midair for a brief length of time before coming down for another leap. This helps for traversing through Cyber city silently, and effortlessly. These boots go half the speed of a conventional vehicle themed connectivity DP. He is able to stand on any surface at any angle as if he were standing on the ground. This program is always active.
Combat - Proxy Cloak: By request, Dagger now has a cloaking program available outside of his proxy armor. It possesses the same level of stealth capabilities as the armor itself, but lacks the extra defense.
Downloaded Programs:
Combat - Stealth Proxy Armor: A special stealth armor with built in proxies that hides his presence from optical and IP scanners, allowing for stealth strikes. While active, Dagger wields a dual sided blade staff in place of his bladed guns. Shurikens launched while this is active aren't cloaked the same way, and are still seen when thrown at an opponent. This program has been modified to be compatible with any elemental style programs.
Combat - Elemental Armor: A combat specific armor that focuses on elemental damage prevention. It holds slightly less defensive power as the proxy armor, but the elemental style that Dagger's bladed guns are set to extends to the armor as well, providing overall protection from the specified element.
Combat - Elemental Attack; Whirlwind Staff: Dagger can spin his bladed staff around like a fan blade, summoning forth a horizontal whirlwind that can catch avatars in the current. This is also an effective means for deflecting most non-energy based projectiles. Usable while wearing proxy armor, 3 post cool down.
Combat - Elemental Attack; Explosive Shuriken: Throwing a shuriken generating a condensed bomb in the center, it explodes on impact, dealing explosive and cutting damage to the opponent. Limit three bombs, then 2 post cool down.
Combat - Elemental Attack; Backlash Hurricane: A tornado surrounds Dagger in a 5 yard radius, bringing forth category 3 winds that can scatter enemies that are too close for him to deal with at close range, or bring them closer for close quarters combat. this program can affect all player opponents, and viruses class B and under. Hurricane winds last for 1 turn, cooldown 4 posts.
Combat - Special Technique; Shuriken Overdrive: Dagger is able to overload the shot limit of his shuriken launcher, firing a barrage of 25 shuriken all in one wave. Once launched, the shuriken will spread out and indiscriminately fly into anything caught in its path, like pellets from a shotgun shell. This program can be combined with explosive shuriken and spread across the throwing stars in equal measure, each dealing 1/5 the damage of the standard explosive shuriken. Cooldown; 5 posts.
Combat - Special Technique; Shuriken shredder: Dagger forms a large Shuriken from his launcher, an equally large ball of condensed damage data encased within the center. When launched, the shuriken's sub program is activated, causing the condensed data to expand upon impact. The expanded data functions as a stasis field, trapping whoever is caught within its 25 foot circumference. The targets are then assaulted by a barrage of piercing, slashing data waves crashing into them from various angles. Damage delivered is up to the player of the target. This attack can affect multiple targets, and lasts for 1 turn. Cooldown, 6 posts.
Combat - Elemental Style; Hurricane Strike: The blades on Dagger's guns swirl with a silent wind, allowing both the ability to deal knock-back wind damage, as well as counter attacks from wind-themed enemies or attacks without suffering from contact. This program remains active until a relative program activates and replaces it. Enemies that connect with these blades, whether from tanking a strike, or blocking it, will be knocked back by the burst of wind that comes from the blades themselves.
Combat - Elemental Style; Shocking Strike: The blades on Dagger's guns crackle with electricity, allowing both the ability to deal shock damage, as well as counter attacks from shock-themed enemies or attacks without suffering from contact. This program remains active until a relative program activates and replaces it. Shocked enemies are unable to attack without lag in their movements for 2 turns, allowing for easier evasion. This effect does not stack, but consecutive strikes reset the counter. Shock-themed enemies are immune to this effect, but will still take physical damage from the blades themselves.
Combat - Elemental Style; Burning Strike: The blades on Dagger's guns Burn with a fiery glaze, allowing both the ability to deal burning damage, as well as counter attacks from burn-themed enemies or attacks without suffering from contact. This program remains active until a relative program activates and replaces it. Burn damage inflicted by this program lasts for 2 posts, inflicting pain on the target. This effect does not stack, but consecutive strikes reset the burn counter, unless the target is deleted. Burn-themed enemies are immune to this effect, but will still take physical damage from the blades themselves.
Combat - Elemental Style; Freezing Strike: The blades on Dagger's guns emit a frozen aura, allowing both the ability to deal frost damage, as well as counter attacks from frost-themed enemies or attacks without suffering from contact. This program remains active until a relative program activates and replaces it. Frost-inflicted enemies are slowed down by half speed, and are less resistant to damage in this state. This effect does not stack, but consecutive hits will reset the counter, keeping their speed and damage resistance halved. Frost-themed enemies are immune to this effect, but will take physical damage from the blades themselves.
Combat - Elemental Style; Acid Strike: The blades on Dagger's guns become coated with boiling acid, allowing both the ability to deal acid damage, as well as counter attacks from acid-themed enemies or attacks without suffering from contact. This program remains active until a relative program activates and replaces it. Acid-afflicted enemies take corrosive damage, weakening any programs that connect with these blades for 2 turns. This means that damage inflicted by the enemy is weakened, and there's the possibility that their programs could even break from use, and must be reloaded once the program repairs itself. This effect does not stack, and consecutive strikes do not reset the corrosive counter. Acid-themed enemies are immune to this effect, but will still take physical damage from the blades themselves.
