Name: Ripper
Avatar Style: Viral, combat
Gender: Male
Appearance: Blademaster // Beastmaster
User: N/A
Personality:
Ripper is what many would consider a complex individual to profile. The main link to his many types of behaviors is that he enjoys war and death, to the point of taking extreme pleasure out of killing his targets. When his peers are concerned, he is often arrogant, narcissistic, and a bit on the cynical side. When confronting anyone he isn't allied with, or otherwise associate with on a non-lethal basis, he acts completely randomly, and his behavior is often dependent on known facts of the person or persons he interacts with at the present time. His loyalty to Abraxas is solely dependent on the number of things he is sent to kill.
History: Spawned from raw data coming from websites and online data detailing wars throughout mankind's history, Ripper is by far the closest thing to an avatar among Abraxas' generals, only half of his data actually being viral. When Ripper first came to be, he didn't fully understand what his existence meant, spawned in isolation from anyone around him. When he finally encountered avatars like himself, his appearance intimidated many, and intrigued few. Their collective behaviors of discrimination stirred something inside of Ripper, and he went into a bloodrage, attacking any avatar or sprite in his sights.
When he finally regained awareness of his actions, he saw the deconstructing bodies of his victims and felt something finally awaken in his core; a lust for bloodshed and an irresistible desire for combat...No...War! This new revelation about his existence and why he was here was one of the reasons for a massive data purge of all unregistered and V2 registered avatars in many different networks across the globe. He searched endlessly for someone who could prove a challenge to him, and give him a battle worthy of his bloodlust.
During his quest for combat, he encountered many viruses that helped him further understand his existence. He was neither avatar, like the many he's slaughtered, nor virus, such as the many he has hungrily consumed. This soon drew the attention of someone who he could finally deem worthy of his search. A lone, sentient virus, identifying himself as Abraxas, approached him, and was instantly challenged by Ripper. The battle wasn't long, but for Abraxas, it was long enough. Abraxas saw the capabilities that this half-virus possessed, and offered to give Ripper exactly what he wanted: a war that would finally quell his lust for conquest and bloodshed, all in exchange for serving him and attacking who he told him to. Not quick to hold his bloodlust back, Ripper found this to be the one opportunity he was looking for, and weighed the pros and cons cons in his decision. Reluctantly, Ripper agreed, under the condition that if he started getting bored with the targets Abraxas placed before him, he would walk, and continue his search as he always had.
Currently, Ripper is Abraxas' assassin squad general and in charge of the virus army's shadow squadrons.
Add-Ons:
Clawed hands and feet: Both in Blademaster and Beastmaster modes, Ripper's hands and feet have sharp claws. Providing not only extra damage with unarmed strikes, but the ability to run along walls and even up the sides of buildings as long as he can maintain momentum along the wall.Any attacks that connect with Ripper, or barriers that stop his movement, will cancel his progress and force him off the wall.
Ripper blade: A high density blade with a heavy grip and guard, making for faster, stronger strikes. Multiple strikes with this sword can shatter armor in segments. It takes 5 strikes on any specific body part to shatter that part of the armor, and armor broken this way takes 3 posts to repair and reapply.
Scrambler Knife: A tactical knife that can cause instant scrambling of data on any target that the blade impales. It causes minimal damage, but the scrambling of code slows an avatar's standard movement speed by 25% for 2 posts (this can be reduced to 1 post with help from a 3rd party, but leaves the 3rd party open for attack). Ripper can use this as a standard CQC knife, or throw it as a projectile. The knife will break down after one post if thrown, and rebuilds itself on the knife slot in the sheath on his back.
Adjustable sheath: A basic sheath attached to Ripper's back that can re-position itself in different styles of combat. This allows Ripper to be able to keep his blade out at all times, and lets him draw the sword either over his shoulder, or from his hip. The draw style is always right handed.
Viral Boost: Ripper's partially viral core data, as well as his consumption of viral data, has boosted his physical potential, making unarmed strikes just as effective as those with melee weapons. He can also deflect most melee weapons due to the tough exterior the viral data has given him, but heavy blows, or powerful strikes will still deal damage to Ripper, even if he deflects the attack. Ranged weapons are ineffective against his deflections without assistance.
Downloaded Programs:
Decoder Visor: An active program embedded on Ripper's head, both in blade master and beast master modes. When active, Ripper can detect hidden code and entities cloaked by masking programs. He cannot use weapons while the visor is active, and using weapons actively disables the visor's detection ability. However, it can still be used as a HUD, for sifting ally and enemy on a battlefield, as well as protecting his eyes from any hazards.
Recuperative hunger: Ripper has a regenerative quality at par with others with similar capabilities, able to heal or grow back injured or lost body parts in little time. However, this regenerative ability requires that he feast on virus and avatar data to recover what was lost or damaged quickly. Ripper can consume data with any form of tactile transference, in either form, but he always preferred the vampiric style of biting his feeding source or digging his claws into the source, simply because it did damage just as much as it sapped data from it.
Sword Mod: Whipstaff: A weapon mod to Ripper's sword, turning it into a pole arm attached in segments of small arms. This allows for flexibility while using this weapon. It reaches a maximum of 10 feet, and can stay rigid in its staff form, or become flexible like a whip. The knives attacked to the ends of this weapon can be thrown like daggers and replaced from Ripper's knife sheath as a subroutine only usable while this mod is active. This mod is actively triggered and takes up one DP slot while active, but cannot work in tangent with other weapon mods of similar types (Sword/Knife).
Sword MOD - Butcher:: A weapon mod for Ripper's basic blade. The sword is cloned and made into two near-identical swords that can detach and reattach at will. This gives Ripper the ability to dual wield two fast blades, or swing with both linked together for a powerful, defense breaking strike, as well as have pincer capabilities while joined that can slice objects apart like bolt cutters. This mod is actively triggered, and takes one DP slot while active.
Knife MOD - Chain Sai: A weapon mod for Ripper's scrambler knife. Not only does this side weapon possess the same scrambling capabilities of its predecessor, it has a binary chain link attached to the grip that connects to Ripper's open palm while in use, maximum of 30 feet reach. Ripper is able to wield the sai normally, or throw it like a dart at an object or enemy and retract it at will. A solid connection is established with any connected target by the binary chain link shifting from 0s to 1s. The scrambling effect is only in effect while the sai has a glowing blue aura around it, otherwise, it is solely for quick transport, or to tether an opponent down. If the weapon is securely lodged inside of his target, Ripper can use it to yank an enemy off balance, or even pull them to him or vice versa, right to his waiting blade. This mod is actively triggered, and uses one DP slot while in use. Scrambling effect works similar to the scrambler knife, and it takes 2 posts to generate an aura around the weapon after use.
Rapid-Fire Sheath: The knife slot in Ripper's sheath can fire scrambler knives in rapid succession, allowing for multiple targets to be scrambled at once, or to hit a single target and stack scrambled code up to 2 additional times. Ripper can fire a total of 6 knives this way, before a 4 post cooldown is needed to use the ability again. Scrambler knives lose their scrambling ability for an additional 2 posts after the cooldown is complete. Stacked scrambled code can only be reduced in increments, but the time to remove 25% of scrambled code is only 1 post (1 increment of 25% can be instantly repaired by a third party, but leaves the third party wide open for attack).
Explosive Draw: An explosive charge is applied to the sheath, allowing for incredibly fast and power quick-draw strikes. This gives Ripper a one shot hit to destroy a single part of armor from the head, arms, legs, or torso. This strike requires 4 posts before it can be used again. Armor regeneration applies as normal for Ripper Blade's effect. Indication of this attack is a dim glow from within the sheath prior to ejecting the sword. Ripper does not need to hold the sword to activate this program.
Deca-strike slash: A combat maneuver program that condenses ten slashes into one quick draw strike. Using scripting logic, damage dealt by Ripper's sword is inflicted on the point of contact ten times. To the avatar being struck, it feels like a sword is slashing the same spot, ten times, with pinpoint accuracy. Using this ability only counts toward one armor breaking strike. Requires 5 posts before it can be used again. Visual identifiers include a sudden sheathing of Ripper's sword, and a mild distortion on the hilt and grip of the sword (the only visible part of the weapon). Ripper can use this program while his sword is sheathed, but only after he's grabbed the sword's grip.
Beast within: Ripper can change his outward appearance to that of a wolf-like creature. Not only does this give him faster reaction time and improved movement speed, but his style of combat also changes as well. Rather than wielding a sword, The Ripper wolf has daggers attached to his front and hind legs that can flip outward. He also has smaller knives that his tail and prehensile 'tongue' can grip and wield, mainly for assassination tactics or as projectiles. Knives used this way function similar to the Scrambler knife in Blademaster mode.
Master and Familiar: Ripper can project a single copy of his Beastmaster mode to use in combat as an ally. This copy acts of its own free will, and has all of the combat capabilities that Ripper would have while using the form, but lacks the intelligence of its creator and fights mostly on instinct. It isn't without sentient thought, however, and can fight tactically, but not for extended periods. This copy is helpful in combat, but can't take many hits before breaking down. It takes 5 hits of moderate damage or greater to take the copy down, and a high powered strike will destroy it completely. Ripper can summon another copy 3 posts after the 1st one is disposed of. Programs that are uniform to both combat forms can be shared between the two, but take up one DP slot, even if Ripper is not utilizing the program himself.
M&F - Doppelgänger: A subroutine of the Master and Familiar program. Ripper can create a duplicate of himself using the Beastmaster copy. This copy has no access to any of his downloadable programs aside from the Decoder visor, but has access to all add-ons.
M&F - Pack Leader: A subroutine of the Master and Familiar program. Ripper can use his Beast within program to transform into his Beastmaster form while his wolf copy fights alongside him.
M&F - Role Reversal: A subroutine of the Master and Familiar program. Ripper and his copy swap combat forms, Ripper taking Beastmaster mode, and his copy taking Blademaster. Use of combat programs for Blademaster are transferred to the copy until this subroutine is disabled.
Grenadier Tactics: Ripper can generate grenades from his hands with an explosive radius of 15 meters. Ripper cannot wield his sword or knife while using grenades, but can actively switch between the two. Ripper can toss 2 grenades per post, one for each hand. Beastmster is able to toss a single grenade from its tail per post, but throwing knives are locked in the process.
Acceleration Mode: An enhanced combat mode that triggers actively. Ripper's body and perception move at five times his normal speed, making his movements seem like they're moving in fast forward to others, and everything around Ripper seems to move in slow motion. Only active for one post, and requires 6 posts to cool down before it can be triggered again.
