Name: Amplify
Avatar Style: Combat Support
Gender: Female
Appearance: A slender young woman, Amplify actually seems older than her previous incarnation, resting somewhere in her mid-twenties. However, instead of looking like a normal human, Amplify is closer to appearing as a regular avatar now, with her armor built onto her body. She still has golden eyes and light-purple hair, this time running down her back to stop at her hips, no braids in sight. Her armor is black-and-gold, and is molded to her body almost like a second skin. The most notable feature of her is that she has no arms, not even stumps where they should be; instead, six hands float around her.
User: N/A
Personality: Amplify is still someone who seeks out fun and adventure, but no longer to an extreme of harming others around her to get it. She possesses a sense of empathy now, and no longer enters into emotional feedback loops. These changes to her psyche allow her to feel more emotions than previously, and care about others; however, she can still exceed the standard limitations of a personality matrix in extreme situations, feeling far strongly than most. Of course, none of these changes have prevented her from teasing others and playing 'games with words'. That being said, the excitement she seeks out now is more physical than mental.
History: Amplify was created in the same experiment that made Integrate. Both of them were formed from programs designed to drastically boost an avatar's abilities, but while Integrate could combine with another avatar to give them the power of two avatars, Amplify instead could boost the power of an avatar's actions.
After deriding her as weak and leaving, Amplify decided that Integrate was a fool to think of only strength. After all, they existed because of an accident of fate. Why not make the most out of their life? If the only reason she was alive was an accident, then she had no purpose, she could just do whatever she wanted. And that's what she set out to do.
By doing this, she actually ended up on the wrong side of the law when a rogue avatar named Noxus conflicted with them. While she didn't really believe in his 'cause' of evolving avatars to their full potential, she decided it would be far more interesting to see where he and his ally Justicar went with this cause. So she joined up with them, and they gave her a complete combat overhaul, with new armor, a weapon, and increased capabilities of her own powers.
However, not everything went as Noxus and Justicar had planned. Amplify was far more unstable than anyone knew, and during an expedition to find power-ups for Justicar, Amplify betrayed him, deleting him and bringing back the power-up herself, claiming he had fallen during the process. She did this specifically because she needed Justicar, trying to bind him to her by any means possible. Unfortunately, after being captured by PariahTech, the Hunter who captured her revealed this to Justicar in an attempt to cause her to delete her.
In one last attempt to save Justicar from the reformatting program that was tied to the security of the cell she was being kept in, she sacrificed herself, pushing him out of the room after supercharging him to get him to open up the locked door. In the last moments of her life, she felt like she'd redeemed herself... performing a selfless act for the avatar she'd fallen in love with. As the reformatter tore her apart, she was at peace, likely for the first time in her life.
The data then was forced together, creating a new Amplify. In all respects, she was a completely different person. She had none of her memory data, her personality matrix had been remade and was no longer error-prone, her appearance was different... there were only two things that were the same about her. Some of her programs had made it through unscathed... and she was still made of the same data that the previous Amplify had been made of.
Add-Ons:
Many Hands: Amplify possesses six hands that she controls remotely, floating around her. Each hand cannot leave beyond 10 feet of another part of her body, though this includes other hands. They can still exert force as if she possessed arms, and in fact putting pressure on them while she's pushing back results in her own body sliding back if she's overpowered.
Energy Strands: Amplify's hair possesses two functions. The first is to gather raw, digital energy from all around her and absorb it, amplifying it into usable amounts. This energy gathers together in the form of small, rainbow-colored orbs. With her new overhaul, four of these are created per post, and she can have up to ten max floating around. Any extras get stored in her Shattered Skies, for another ten that she can release later. Its other function is as a weapon. Amplify can remove strands of her hair, charging them with energy and threading them between her hands, creating intricate patterns between her hands glowing with color. Amplify can either use this as a net or as a cutting instrument as she pleases.
Rechargeable Armor: This armor is slim and feminine, and covers her entire body like a second skin. It is colored black and gold. This armor reduces damage taken by 30%, and in addition to that has a built-in firewall that prevents viral data from passing through to hit her.
Shattered Skies: A special weapon modified specifically for Amplify and then reborn upon her reformatting, Shattered Skies is a naginata with the blade attached to the side of the shaft. There is a kinetic pulse cannon built into its top, with the shots fired from its tip. Due to its unique design, Frozen Torrent can be used to stab, slice, and still have its shots free to fire. These shots are powerful blasts of kinetic energy, so she can only shoot up to two per posts, but when they hit they explode into a large amount of force, either doing significant damage to things which can't move or knocking away those that can. The most notable aspect of Shattered Skies as compared to its original form as Frozen Torrent is that it is able to be disassembled, becoming three separate weapons. The first is Cloud, the blade turned into a wakizashi. The second is Meteor Shower, the cannon. The third is Thunder, the shaft turned into a bo staff.
Riding the Wind: A special program bundled into Shattered Skies, when active the naginata will turn its cannon into a rocket thruster, flying through the air as she directs it, albeit dull-side first. Amplify uses this not only to make sure it returns to her after getting separated, but also as a connectivity program, able to magnetize her feet to it to ride it like a surfboard.
Downloaded Programs:
Overcharge: By channeling the orbs through herself once more, Amp can double the amount of orbs she currently has. However, this has a cost; doing this damages Amplify's personal systems, causing internal damage to her code structure. As such, she can only safely do this every so often, depending on how many orbs she doubles. The cooldown for this ability is the same as the number of orbs she channels through herself. (So, 1 orb, uses up the orb to create 2 orbs, 1 post cooldown.) The damage she takes is likewise proportional to the number of orbs that she channels. (Anything 3 or below is negligible, 4-6 is moderate damage, 7-10 is severe damage.)
Rerouting: While Amplify could not normally apply her Boosting or Upgrade programs to herself in any way, Amplify can now do it while this is active by channeling the orbs into one of her hands, which isolates her just enough that the energy doesn't go through her amplification program again.
Add-On Adding On: While Amplify came up with this ridiculous name, no one can deny its effectiveness. While this program is active, Amplify can apply her Upgrade and Boosting programs to uses of Add-Ons rather than DPs. Applying an Upgrade program to one Add-On specifically makes it cost one orb rather than two.
Boosting Programs: (Note that if the ability does not have the right attribute to be boosted, Amplify cannot boost it. An ability that doesn't last a specific amount of time cannot be affected by Extend.)
Enlarge: Amplify doubles the size and range of an ability in progress. This does not affect any other attributes of the ability. Uses up one orb.
Accelerate: Amplify doubles the speed of an ability in progress. This does not affect any other attributes of the ability. Uses up one orb.
Intensify: Amplify doubles the damage of an ability in progress, or healing if it's a healing ability. This does not affect any other attributes of the ability. Uses up one orb.
Extend: Amplify doubles the duration of an ability in progress. This does not affect any other attributes of the ability. Uses up one orb.
Delayed Boost: The next Boosting Program that Amplify uses instead gets used on an avatar. The program then waits for the avatar to use an ability that can be boosted by it, and is activated then. This uses up an additional orb.
Upgrade Programs: (These programs are constant use, unlike Boosting Programs, and can eat away Amplify's charges rapidly.)
Strength: This program doubles the damage that an avatar does while in effect. Uses two orbs per post. If it cannot be paid for at the start of a post, immediately ends.
Agility: This program doubles the speed of an avatar while in effect. Uses two orbs per post. If it cannot be paid for at the start of a post, immediately ends.
Shield: This program doubles the defense of an avatar while in effect. Uses two orbs per post. If it cannot be paid for at the start of a post, immediately ends.
Overload: This program uses up ten orbs at the very start of activation, and Amplify cannot gain orbs while it is active. For three posts, the avatar gains the effects of Strength, Agility, and Shield. However, once it has ended, the avatar will immediately be left at half strength, speed, and defense for the next five posts.
Personal Programs: (These are programs that Amplify uses on/for her weapon and armor.)
Kinetic Barrage: By consuming an orb, Amplify supercharges her cannon, allowing her to rapidly fire five shots from her cannon in a burst. She cannot use her cannon for this post or the next after doing this.
Aura Slice: By consuming an orb, Amplify supercharges her blade, causing it to glow with energy that gives it the ability to cut straight through armor, bypassing damage reduction for the post that she used it.
Active Protection: Activating this program reduces the orbs that Amplify gains per post down to two; however, for as long as this is active projectiles that are standard strength and below cannot bypass the firewall on her armor. Projectiles stronger than that will have their strength reduced by 50% on top of the 25% damage reduction the armor provides. (In other words, regular attacks, like bullets; DPs or Add-Ons that are explicitly more powerful than your standard DeRez blaster are merely halved in damage.)
