Appearance: Masamune is usually seen in his combat armor. When he isn't wearing it, he takes the appearance of a man in his early to mid forties with Black hair that is graying at the temples, he has a scar running down his face that he received from a final battle with Specter. His build is thin but muscular, and he's approximately six feet tall. His clothing is a white, black and Gray Samurai's Hakama. He is always seen with one or both of his swords on him at all times, in or out of his armor.

Personality: Masamune is a secretive avatar, keeping his cards close to the vest until it becomes absolutely necessary to reveal the full breadth of his plans and knowledge to his partners. This trait lends itself well to Masamune's position as a head of the mysterious organization that keeps watch over the network, a job that makes secrets almost mandatory. Masamune also possesses a strong sense of justice, similar to Justicar, and like Justicar he will not hesitate to cut down an avatar who harms an innocent.
His method of planning is usually rather cautious, preferring to only act when things are a sure bet, this puts him at odds with Raijin, who is more willing to take a risk if the reward is worth it. This personality trait is one of the reasons he has a near obsession with tinkering on pieces of code to improve them, he is consumed with the need to make his creations as close to perfect as possible. This tends to manifest as manic energy when working on a project as opposed to stern concentration, and if he cannot find a way to improve a program he has no trouble setting it aside until inspiration strikes him.
His attitude towards other avatars is usually friendly, even an avatar with an unpleasant personality is met with a calm smile and a kind voice, provided the avatar doesn't become violent. He holds his comrades in high regard and will always be willing to fight alongside them, easily letting go past grievances for the sake of helping a friend. Overall Masamune usually comes off as rather laid back despite his somewhat formal mannerisms, he rarely gets annoyed over a small setback, and is willing to go with the flow of a situation if at all possible.
History: Not much is known about Masamune's past, anything that is known comes from him, and given his profession it's quite possible that several facts about his life are either altered or outright false. Masamune was "Born" approximately 25 years ago, making him particularly old for an avatar, though his constant self-upgrades over time have more than likely made his current form completely different from what he was originally.
For a great deal of his life he was a wandering swordsman with the Organization's army, usually deployed on his own to assist local defenders and rescue civilians. Approximately 10 years ago, Masamune was given his current assignment, monitor the underground network and report any major events to his fellow agents. It was during this span of time that he met Justicar, who was a champion in the Underground's arena. Masamune saw the anger bubbling underneath Justicar's focused exterior and trained him, helping him learn how to master his temper and become a powerful swordsman.
Recently he has become acquainted with the AUGMENT avatar Amplify, whom Justicar had taken under his wing much like Masamune did for him. But Masamune knows about Amplify's true personality, and is grappling with whether or not he should tell Justicar and risk Amplify's safety, or to allow the AUGMENT avatar to continue manipulating his former student.
Add-Ons: Combat - Dual Data Blades: Masamune's standard weapons, these dual data blades take the form of Katanas. They are both approximately 60 centimeters in length and deal a decent amount of damage.
Combat - Samurai Armor: Masamune's armor is incredibly resilient despite it's antiquated appearance, he has applied constant upgrades to it, making it one of the most durable armors on the Network. Masamune's armor reduces damage dealt by melee attacks by 40%, and reduces damage from ranged attacks by 20%.
Connectivity - Ninja Run: While Masamune's design is based off of the samurai, he possesses the same agility as his more stealthy counterparts, this allows him to move at speeds comparable to a cyber speeder while on foot and run straight up walls. In combat this ability allows Masamune to block attacks more effectively or dodge fast moving projectiles. This ability is passive and is running at all times.
Downloaded Programs: Combat - Kokūjin Ōgi: Akumetsu: Masamune taught Justicar how to use his most powerful technique, and can therefore use it himself. Masamune's version of the attack has two forms as well, and deals the same amount of damage as Justicar's version. The first version of the attack is similar to Justicar's dash attack, Masamune channels his aura into his swords and delivers a devastating blow to his opponents. The second version of the attack is a large trigram that ensnares any hostile avatars within a 100 foot radius, when Masamune sends the burst of aura through the trigram, a contained explosion of energy deals massive amounts of damage to any hostiles inside of the trigram. The trigram needs approximately 5 seconds to charge before it activates, and Masamune is shrouded in white energy while the trigram is charging, the trigram also cannot trap flying enemies. Because of Masamune's skill in using the technique, he doesn't need as much time to recharge between uses, Masamune needs to wait 7 posts before he can use this technique again.
Combat - Oni Aura: This is an ability taught to Masamune by Raijin, this technique acts as a damage boost to Masamune's melee attacks, both armed and unarmed attacks deal double that standard amount of damage. This boost manifests in a glowing red aura that seems to burst out of the user. This ability can be toggled on or off at any point.
Combat - Data Strike: This fighting technique is capable of sealing off an opponents DP's for a short period of time, it achieves this in a similar manner to acupuncture, the user strikes an opponent in a "Power Point" on the body and forces some of their data into the point to seal it. The more potent the aura, the longer the effect lasts. Masamune is capable of sealing off an opponent's DP's for 4 turns, however, he deals less damage when using this combat style. the ability also doesn't "Stack", Masamune cannot hit the same data point more than once while it's sealed off. This style can be toggled on or off and cannot be used at the same time as Oni Aura. Like the Iron Fist ability, Masamune cannot channel this aura through his weapons, and needs to be unarmed if he wants to use it. Also, The block on an opponent's abilities will be disabled if Masamue disables this combat style.
Combat - Iron Fist: This technique was taught to Masamune by Ryujin, This power causes the users fists to be shrouded in a powerful golden aura, this aura makes the users fists stronger than titanium, allowing them to stop a data blade with their bare hands. This ability also allows the user to breach any armor or shielding program, from Dome shields to armor drivers. However, Masamune cannot channel this aura through his swords, if he wants to benefit from this ability he needs to be unarmed. This ability can be used with the Data Strike form.This ability can be toggled on or off at will.
