Name: GunEagle
Avatar Style: High-Speed Aerial Assault
Gender: Male
Appearance: Standby
User: Troy Langston
Personality: GunEagle was originally thought to be on default settings. Very formal and genuine. He has a strong sense for justice and his overall demeanor comes off very stoic. He's fairly quiet as he rarely ever speaks unless spoken to. He doesn't seem to take pleasure in anything he does.... Other than playing with bouncing balls that is. Big, small, red, blue, it doesn't matter. If it's spherical and bounces, he'll play with it while sitting down and repeatedly bouncing and catching the ball in a repetitive motion.... Nobody knows why. Despite all this, his personality shifts in combat when lives are at stake. He shows more emotion in the form of aggression. While it doesn't necessarily interfere with his tactical mind set, it's clear that he takes endangering lives personally.
History: GunEagle's story begins in a secret development warehouse. A developer by the name of Jonathan Irons is developing a mass production line of state of the art Avatars for military uses. High speed units with flight capabilities that use experimental high powered rail guns. This line was called the Astral Knights. GunEagle, at the time referred to only as AKM#-01, was the first out of the 12 to be created. When the dozen units were put online, they were immediately put into the testing phase. For weeks the dozen AK avatars were locked in a hologram room that recreated artificial environments found in Cyber Earth.
If the avatars were to fail any artificial missions, the room's ceiling would open and a barrage of balls would fall down upon them, indicating that they failed. Which rarely ever happened. For reasons unknown, GunEagle began to question his existence, as they were left in the dark about what their purpose was. Something none of the other AK avatars did. However another avatar named AKM#-12 seemed to be the complete opposite. Never questioning it's existence, but always trying to find enjoyment out everything it did out side of combat. Such as playing with leafs, rocks, and just about anything it could find.
Over the course of several weeks, GunEagle would watch AKM#-12. As if he can't seem to understand why AKM#-12 found so much joy in all the little things around it, while GunEagle him self couldn't find any joy as he couldn't focus on anything but the next mission. However, dark days approached as Mr.Irons' bosses canceled his fundings and terminated his operations due to various fraud charges he may or may not be guilty of. Before the corporation he worked for could erase him off the books, Mr.Irons set up an illegal auction for wealthy investors to make bids on each of the Astral Knights.
After setting up a live video conference with roughly 20 investors itching to grab an Astral knight, he set up one of the most difficult training missions available to showcase their talents. A mission the Astral Knights completed hundreds of times. The mission was to destroy all incoming missiles before they hit the base. The mission went as planned, until AKM#-12 deviated from the group. The Astral Knights panicked as their formation was now thrown of course. All while AKM#-12 played with a sea shell it found on the ground. The Astral Knights tried their best to retake control, but it was futile. One of the missiles hit the base. The room reverted back to it's base settings and balls fell from the ceiling. All the Astral Knights formed a circle around AKM#-12, staring in disappointment. With a smile on it's face, AKM#-12 took the balls one by one and playfully threw them at everyone. The Astral knights were not phased by AKM#-12 antics..... Except for GunEagle.
GunEagle caught one of the balls, and threw it back. AKM#-12 caught it and was super ecstatic about it and bounce passed it back to GunEagle. GunEagle caught it, and for the first time in his life he actually felt something. He felt joy. As if In this very instance, GunEagle finally understood AKM#-12. GunEagle bounce passed it to AKM#-12 with a smile on his face. AKM#-12 catches the ball with an even bigger smile than before and bounce passes it to GunEagle. GunEagle starts laughing as he catches then bounce passes the ball back to AKM#-12. Back and forth they would bounce the ball to each other for several minutes. The wealthy investors nearly die with laughter at such a pathetic display from these so called military grade avatars. One by one the investors would cancel their video feed. Mr.Irons was embarrassed and grew incredibly furious with this turn of events and threw a tantrum. Irons then grabbed his keyboard and began deleting the Astral Knights for good. One after another the Astral Knights were being deleted as GunEagle and AKM#-12 looked in horror. The 2 avatars would then look at each other as they realize what was about to happen. AKM#-12 immediately put up a smile and bounced the ball towards GunEagle. He catches the ball and looks back at AKM#-12. Before he could bounce the ball back, The only friend he's ever had dematerializes before his eyes... GunEagle is then fueled by rage, throws the ball upwards and unloads every bullet from his Digit Guns; aimlessly shooting in every direction. Then suddenly GunEagle's vision fades to black and goes offline.
GunEagle wakes up, to his surprise, in a training facility at a Nets Op HQ. He checks the calendar and discovers that 3 months have passed since he was last online. He overhears a man named Troy Langston and his supervisor debate on whether it is a good idea for Troy to use an unregistered avatar like GunEagle for Law enforcement. GunEagle then politely interrupts them, completely shocking them as they nearly fall off their feet. GunEagle salutes, and beings telling them his model number and his various functions. Before he could finish, he notices a ball at the corner of his eye. He immediately walks towards it and starts playing with it. Troy notices the odd nature of this avatar. Very serious one minute, then suddenly starts playing with balls out of nowhere. He can't help but to be curious about this avatar. Over the next few days Troy and GunEagle get to know each other and grow to really like one another. So much that they decided to be partners.
**What happened after GunEagle blacked out in the secret warehouse with Mr.Irons will be revealed in the Troy Langston bio.**
Add-Ons:
- Digit Guns: Each of GunEagle's fingers can operate like pistols when straighten. 4 on each hand, 8 in total. The thumbs serve as a reloading mechanism that has to be pulled back once all the magazines are empty. These guns do a moderate level of damage, they're semi-automatic and fire 9mm rounds. Although they may give off the appearance of fully automatic guns as they can be fired independently from each other. Digit Guns can be used in any mode.
(!0 shots per post, 12 shots each before needing reload)
- Heat Fins: Heat Fins are the long golden colored fins on GunEagle's back. They can also be used as Ninjato shaped swords. Although they don't have the finest of sharp edges, the real damage comes from the intense heat they radiate. Once activated it allows them to cut objects just about as well as any beam sword on the market could. Heat Fins can only be hand wielded in it's default mode.
- Connectivity: Flight Mode:
This is GunEagle's primary way of traveling. GunEagle will hover and then lean forward to become parallel to the ground. Simultaneously the outer portion of the wings will pop up, while the beak shield on his chest will rise over GunEagle's head, giving him a jet powered bird appearence. This mode is for both traveling and combat purposes. It's speed and overall aerial mobility is increased significantly by 100%. In this mode, GunEagle's boots allow him to hover in place and are also used for emergency brakes. It has all the capabilities of the Standby mode. With the differences being the Heat Fins can't be hand wielded in this mode, although the Heat Fins can still be utilized by using some clever flying techniques. The Beak shield serves as a sort of battering ram. Allowing GunEagle to purposely collide with enemies or various surfaces with pinpoint precision. Finally, the Rail Cannons can only be fired at a highly reduced output.
Downloaded Programs:
- Rail Cannons: "RC's" are the most lethal weapons in GunEagle's arsenal. Stored at the top of each wing, these cannons fire super powered blasts of energy. They're concussive and deliver a very devastating impact. The blasts are made up of scattered data that are molded and compressed to a near liquid state, and held together by electromagnetic particles provided by the Rail Cannons. When fired forward on even ground, the electromagnetic particles weaken very quickly as the shot loses momentum, it eventually dissipates after traveling for nearly 150 yards. When fired at a downward angle from above, the range doubles as the stability of the shot isn't weakened by opposing gravity. But the output is cut to about half if he's hovering. When fired upward the range is cut in half. Each shot is about a 1/2 yard wide, 20 yards long. In Flight mode, because most it's power is used for the thrusters, the Rail Cannons fire at only 1/4th of the max output.
(1 post charge, 6 post cool down, 3 times per battle)
- DG Upgrade: GunEagle's Digit Guns are upgraded to armor piercing rounds, temporarily replacing the normal rounds.
(2 post duration, 3 post cool down)
- Micro Missiles: These are tiny missiles. They have a range of 200 yards and a blast radius of 15 meters. 4 of them are located in GunEagle's head, underneath his visor. The remaining 8 are located in compartments on the back of the G-Booster's wings, 4 on each wing.
(2 post cool down, 12 missiles per battle)
- Eagle Eye: When his visor rolls down in front of his head, he's able to see through the red spherical camera located on the top of his head. This allows him to zoom in on far away objects from a mile away; read data signatures and the public profiles of Avatars in his vicinity, and allows him to target and track fast moving objects. Although he can track fast moving targets, he still has to rely on his own marksmanship skills to actually hit his target.
